| Not Ranked : 0 score I heard that the stock bpv is only good for 18psi and will leak out anything above that and thats why you would go aftermarket because they hold more boost, thats my research anyway, can anyone confirm or decline that statment? cause im in the market for a bov for that reason. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I ran with the stock BPV beyond 25 psi and don't believe it leaked. Replaced it with a Synapse, and didn't see any improvement (if the stocker was leaking, my boost would have gone up, targeting beyond my means) You can do a search on the "make the stock BPV hold more boost" thread. I had done that, but don't know if it makes a difference That said, I really like the Synapse, been adjusting it for my driving style :-)

I know my stocker holds 22 psi no problem, I just haven't ever pushed it that hard on purpose (I was overboosting after installing my downpipe despite lowering WGDC substantially...I don't actually know what I was holding because the MAP was pegged, but load hit like 2.5-2.6 or so), however, now that I have my 3 bar MAP installed, I'm going to be cranking up the boost (goodbye, K04) and I have a feeling that it'll hold just fine. The stock bypass valve is good on these cars. I've been in a lot of MS3's with aftermarket ones that aren't nearly as fast as my OEM (you can hear the difference). The factory boost is like 15 psi on a good day and sheston above is saying he was holding 25... that's what you call overengineered. Chances are any boost issues you're having are tune related. My 0.02.
