Default Check Engine Light is on

After reading a thread on here about boost leak I checked all my boost tubes took the IC off tighted down all conectors I could practicely pull the inlet tube off with minimum effort. After everything was tighted down took it for a quick spin and came home. This morning shortly after leaving for work my check engine light comes on... any thoughts? I know I put everything back right and tight so I don't know what it could be. The car runs fine I can't tell anything is wrong personally.

Get someone to read/clear the code (Pepboys I think) and work from there. Getting the code read will help you aim your efforts instead of blindly looking for problems.

mmkay?

Or you could just disconnect the battery for a few minutes, clearing the code, then see if it returns. That indicates a continuous problem.

I disconnected the battery and see if that did it but it came back after a few minutes.. I know that the best way to see whats up is to get the code read but I was just trying to see if anyone had any ideas as to what maybe common error that I may have made what I was under the hood. I will take it tomorrow to see what is actually wrong.

pepboys said I have a bad o2 censor, they don't carry them but did seem to think that they are expecive.. Anyone know how much they, where I can get one (except from the obvious more expensive dealer) and would it be hard to install myself?

im simply gonna ask, do u got a downpipe aftermarket ? i would surely hope you would have mentioned having one installed when reffering to o2 sensor, if u got an aftermarket downpipe you might need to invest 3 dollars and some wrenching and add an spark plug anti fouler to your o2 sensor bung. it makes the o2 not stick soo far into the downpipe and cel issue is fixed(if this is an aftermarket downpipe we are talkign about)

I believe the code will still be stored in the ECU as "pending", it will not be cleared from the ECU, I think the only way of clearing it would be with the AP or dashhawk or an OBD-II reader.

I do have an aftermarket DP... After taking it to pepboys they guy there all he did was clear the code then inspected the o2 (moved the wire connected it farther away from the dp and checked its fitment) and it the check engine light came back on the next day but then went off all by itself while I was out one day and hasn't been back on since. So I really don't know... I stood next to the guy while he was going over the car the entire time so I know he didn't do anything shady. I put about 400 + miles on it this weekend and nothing to be concerned about.

sometimes they need to be cleaned. And maybe by him touching it he removed enough crap where it reads properly again. If its not complaining leave it alone.
