Default Custom Performance Engineering™ Side Mounts are RELEASED

Passenger Side Mount Price: $250.03

Driver Side Mount[/size] Price: $221.30

It's is finally time to get the power to the wheels! cp-e™ is proud to release the driver side engine mount for mazdaspeed3 gen1 and gen2. Our side mounts have been a long time in the making. We have been testing the cp-e™ side mounts for more than 8 months on numerous cars including i-Moto Racing’s grand am series mazdaSPEED3s. We are confident that these will be the last side mounts you will ever need.

The driver side engine mount brackets are made from 1/4” mild steel that is laser cut for precise fitment. The bushing housing is CNC machined from a solid block of aluminum. And like our rear motor mounts these bushings are made from rubber instead of urethane.

You have the power to choose your own durometer! We let you decide what degree of comfort vs stiffness you want to run. The 60 durometer is for the driver that is looking to get the power down to the ground without sacrificing too much comfort. The 75 durometer is more for those that drive their cars hard. No matter which durometer you chose the engine will have noticeably less movement from stock.

Say goodbye to wheel hop and torque steer when you combine this with our passenger side mount and already popular rear motor mount.

Awesome

There is a discrepency in prices if you buy the set.

Select the Driver Side
Both Side Mounts = $212.32
All 3 Mounts = $340.20

Select the Passenger Side
Both Side Mounts = $183.59
All 3 Mounts = $311.47

After about 2k miles, they really settle in. I've even thought they were super shaky at idle, but showed friends and they couldn't tell the difference. There is LITERALLY no wheel hop. It's pro.

Vibrations I expect and would be great if they do die down after a couple thousand miles. But what about noise? I heard the TRZ caused you to hear the transmission whine or something a lot more. Any word on these and the noise they produce?

The noise you're talking about is the throw out bearing (or release bearing). Mine has screamed since the car was new. I grew used to it.

Who's taking the plunge? i have SU mounts up front an the CPE 75duro in the rear.

I used to have SU's all around & found that switching the CPE RMM gave me considerably less vibes with no noticeable performance degradation. I'm a little torn, as this is a pricey set. I love CPE's products, but I hate switching mods out to find that I haven't gained any additional performance/benefit. I did that recently with the TWM STS -> Full replacement (waste of money, imo...unless you want an even shorter STS)

Subbed! Very interested. TRZ tranny mount was too much for me. Need a replacement to stop this wheel hop without making the car sound broken lol.

I would really be interested in hearing about the NVH compared to the TRZ tranny 'driver' mount. I currently use the TRZ but if I could get the same performance and less NVH from the CPE I would definitely jump on these... NOW.

Need MOAR comparisons. If anyone can compare these side by side or before after please do so and share the wealth. CPE ROX.

Want...the TRZ tranny mount is badass but I agree with the comments about the NVH...

$500 for the set is a lot...but I have a feeling these will be absolutely top notch quality

I haven't been keeping up on aftermarket failures - how have CPEs RMMs been holding up?

The first batch, like two and a half years ago had a few problems. I don't know of many since.

I've had these on my car for about 6 months. 6 HARD months. Powershifting, launching etc. I prolly got my 60's around 1.9 consistently.

Which set do you have? I was thinking of grabbing a 60 duro one, but curious how bad the vibes are. Also if you already had the cpe RMM (I have the 60/whatever is softest), did you notice an additional improvement? Can you detail what it's like to drive with the full set? Idling with the AC on, does the car come apart?

All three mounts I have installed on my car are 75 duro. Moreso I got noise (from my shitty throw out bearing) than vibrations. However, they're there. Again, the bushings are rubber, not urethane so don't be intimidated. There is litterally NO wheel hop. And (as many of you now know) I beat the fuck out of my car. Powershifting, launching, etc. I got my 60' down to 1.85-1.90's consistently with Star Specs.

Idling with ac has added vibs, obvi.

Whatever the noise is.. It makes the car sound broke. That's why many of us have removed the TRZ tranny mount. Hope to god these CPE mounts are more graceful.. I need the powuh to the ground by spring!

We just spent a lot of time on the bushing design to make sure they last.

It seems that the TRZ mount uses urethane, we feel that the vibrations won't be nearly as bad because urethane is a pretty poor material for bushings because of some of its less attractive properties.

We feel that our mounts are a good compromise of stiffness and vibration.

New pictures have been posted of the mounts. Forgive my ignorance; how is the driver's side mount going to bolt to the transmission? My TRZ is one piece and the bolt went directly through the bushing into the transmission. I am trying to piece it together, but can not seem to figure it out for the life of me...

It's upside down from what you're used to. Triangle on tranny, 8 little fasteners attach the bushing to that (which means they're holding up your motor) and the mounting plate you're used to goes in "upside down" so the wings reach down to the bushing (horizontally mounted) on the tranny. That's how it looks to me.

I think CP-E needs to post a diagram on how this is going to work haha I don't think anyone is 100% sure how it's supposed to go together from the photos.

Mike, the bottom "tripod" looking bracket with the actual mount attached bolts to the tranny. the top piece is the one with the 4 square holes cut into it. Pretty simple to install.

RMM is on the short list for spring time mods, so depending on reviews, the whole kit might be the best way to go.

Think I'll order this full set once we get closer to spring, since I don't have a garage. I'm going to give it a few years before going power mod crazy, but going all in on suspension and support mods.

If these can tame the torque steer, it's money well spent. If my Mustang buddy said "fuck yeah torque steer" the first time he rode in it, that's a problem.
