(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Well I 'am almost positive that my 3/4th shift fork pads are damaged, I have trouble shoot all other obvious possibilities such as adjusting the cables, swapping in the ford honey....the transmission has roughly 40-45k on it's clock. Under load, at about 5k rpm 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th I get a nice loud grind, all gears are staying engaged during normal shifting and not popping out, but 3rd and 4th under load will grind and will not cleanly engage. I 'm replacing all shift forks with the upgraded bronze pads but my questions is can these pads wearing also damage a synchronizer to the point it also needs to be replaced.....I'm kind of leery of dismantling the entire transmission, it is just a little more complicated then a meat and potato engine rebuild. Thanks for any useful input and opinions welcomed.
