| Not Ranked : 0 score A bigger tip doesnt help much if there is still at bottleneck at the intake. Either get a bigger intake and tip or just leave your setup as is. I bet a bigger tip only would give you like 1 hp...lol |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I like the larger intake, HTP 3.0" definitely made the engine feel more responsive. Just remember you'll need to scale the MAF sensor to install a larger than stock intake. You didn't list an Access Port? You need that to scale the MAF.

Yes sorry I do have an accessport already on a stage 1 map. Someone posted the difference between a 3" and. 3.5" Intake that gained 8whp. I think the k&n sri is 2.5" so there definitely has to be a difference. When I put a 3" on my vr6 gti vs a 2.5 the difference was noticeable Last edited by cocoleveo7686; 03-01-2014 at 10:51 AM. I ran a 3.5 incher on my car for a few months just for the hell of it. After tuning it i found gains of 5-8hp at about 5k and about 3hp at 6k. They were consistent gains comparing logs on VD but i felt no difference while driving and 40-100mph times were about the same compared to the Cobb SF i was running. So yes, in my experience there are small gains to be had with a bigger intake on the K04. Is worth the money? Not to me. I sold it to a fella going BT as he would be better served by it.

I am goin to get fuel pump internals before I go custom map. I personally don't wanna get a tune until all my mods are done. Maybe if I find an intake cheap enough ill get it

| Not Ranked : 0 score since you have a MS6, the BIGGEST TIP you can run with the OEM battery is a 3". And that will rub just a lil. You can modify your battery tray to prevent this. But there is NO difference power between a 2.5" or 3" TIP. Look at any TIP, it's just a funnel from the small 2" turbo inlet to the larger dia of the MAF. As for a intake on the K04, you can run stock OEM MAF to a 4" MAF. its all about how you tune. I currently run a 3.75 intake on my K04 turbo. ANYTHING larger than the OEM 2.68" MAF will REQUIRED A change in tune. |

Thank you. What if I get the jbr 3.0 intake but for the gt series. Can I use a reducer to the stock k04, will there be enough room? Just incase I decide to go gt series?

Also consider just buying a HTP 3" or 2.5" TIP, and run a SRI that best fits your budget or current power goals. Since you don't have internals, a 2.5" TIP would be fine with an OEM size MAF SRI. Then move up to a 3" SRI once you get internals.

You don't need the tray on the 3.5. Warps the battery box a little but that's it might be different on a 6 though.

Buy my SRI then.... http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...filter-165155/ on a MS6, the largest TIP you can run is a 3"
