(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Clutch, flywheel, and slave cylinder have just been replaced 50 miles ago. Transmission and PTO have fresh fluid. When sitting at idle, the car starts to jerk and clunk. I lifted the front end and let it sit in neutral. Parking brake on. When it jerks the wheels move. In spite of not being in gear. When the pedal is depressed the clunking stops. This started after I drove the car with the front wheels not torqued properly and persists after tightening them to spec. Any ideas? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score have you checked your wheel and brake disc for being torn by wheel studs. it usually uneven wear the holes....if the hole is slotted by wear, regardless how hard you will torque them, the wheel would rock and need to be replaced. i also got a similar noise problem over a year, i let it goes until it vib so much that i removed the transmission to find a destroyed main bearing and a worn out dual mass flywheel.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score The issue doesn't occur when moving forward in gear. Only when in neutral with the clutch engaged. |
