(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I got the car in running condition with a clutch that was disintegrated down to metal plates. The car runs and drives post clutch install but there's a problem. I first started the car and pulled it out of the garage in first gear. After running to operating temp I tried to move the car again. Only then the clutch would not disengage and there is a grinding when the pedal is depressed and going in any gear. With a rolling start it will slip in to first and shift gears with a little effort. But the clutch will not disengage at any time. Even acceleration with the pedal depressed shows no sign of slipping. It's a Luk clutch, pilot bearing, throw out bearing, and PP on a Fidanza FW. All new. All torqued to spec. The clutch disc is NOT on backwards and was correctly aligned and matched the input shaft splines. The transmission was filled with the proper gear oil. With the car off it shifts in to all gears normally. The flywheel was cleaned but not scuffed. A new slave cylinder was installed and bled. The entire hydraulic system has been flushed. The clutch arm moves within spec when the pedal is depressed. The arm is attached to the new throw out bearing and moving freely with no odd noises. The clutch pedal assembly is not cracked. Still, hot or cold. The clutch is not disengaging. I adjusted the pedal throw and it no longer grinds while attempting to go in to first gear. Or any gear. It slowly moves the car until the rpms alow it to go in to gear. Again with no grinding. Could the disc still have somehow fused to the flywheel? It's strange to me that it shifted fine when I first moved the car but now it mimics symptoms of a backwards clutch. Even if it somehow was the Fidanza FW shouldn't interfere like a factory unit would. I'm looking for suggestions before I drain $100 of fluid and tear it down to do the job again. Thanks, y'all. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Fixed it! The clutch disc was stuck on the coating Fidanza put on the friction surface. Ten minutes of start stops with the clutch pedal depressed freed it up and now it's operating normally. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I heard about this from a local, apparently you need to clean that green shit off. I bought a used fidanza FW and a replacement disk and it didn't have that green shit. Good job
