Default Muffler delete without any aftermarket tune?

Was just wondering if you could get away with doing a muffler delete without a tune? I know this is frowned upon, but I don't wanna have to spend 650 on an accessport just to squeeze a little more noise out of the ole rust bucket.

No tune needed for a muffler delete. All you'll need is a good set of ear plugs

Lol, do even if I would do a three inch straight pipe from the cat back, you don't think it would shorten the life of anything?

I have friends that have that same exact set up, works just fine. It's loud as hell but no, it will not shorten the life of anything.

Ok well, let me be the first to say welcome and thanks for the advice.
Recommend you make an intro thread unless your willing to take on some flak.

When you first joined the thread there should have been a private message you got and it'll tell you how, if you didn't then I can tell you

Pretty much just go to the general discussion, start a new thread, title it new speed 6 or something and then tell about yourself.

It will sound just like a John Deere farm tractor. Four bangers are naturally very nasty sounding engines. They need high flow resos and mufflers (which lose very little power if any on our cars) or they really do sound like farm tractors.

Well this will have to do since I'm still in high school and I just dropped a lot on SURE rear diff mounts and a whiteline rsb. Low on cash.

Lol I actually like the sound of muffler delete, it goes from a quite sedan, to a loud monster, might not sound the best but it does turn heads.

Glad to hear, excited now! Did you just get the mufflers cut out and replaced with stock sized piping?

I must like the sound a John Deere makes. Love my cat-less, 3 in straight pipe. I've always thought the turbo acts enough like a muffler, plus all that other stuff just adds weight, because..... wait for it......racecar

Sitll in high school and buying stuff from SURE. Yep, that explains a lot.

We've all been young and new to performance cars. We often are influenced by people who don't know shit.

My main concern is the sheer lack of search effort on the effect of exhaust mods and ignorance of the reputation of SURE with this community. I bought one of their mounts years ago when they first came out before we knew. Never again. Mine, surprisingly, held up. Most don't.

Reading the threads here while low on cash will save you grief with your next purchase.

Save your mufflers. You might end up putting them back on when the headaches become too much or you tire of getting pulled over. Loud is not fast.

FWIW, I'm running a 3" catless dp/rp, but am stock from the rp back. The main restrictions are upstream of the CBE.

Considering you can literally move my diff by simply pushing it rn, from the previous owner, I chose to upgrade instead of getting another shitty OEM one.

I recently installed a CPE rear diff mount and Whiteline RSB. It was a PITA. For me anyhow. Next time (like when I replace my rear diff soon) I'll be dropping the rear subframe. Just an FYI.

And the Sure products have a bad rep. Mostly on motor mounts. For those stick with JBR, AWR, etc. But the Sure rear diff mount is probably ok.

Just don't launch the car and expect everything else to hold up.

Do you have an upgraded rear motor mount yet? That should be your next purchase.

I have a Catted CPE 3" downpipe mated to a CPE 3" Stainless Steel Full Exhaust (Austenite) and its loud! I could'nt imagine not having the mufflers in there. They don't muffle much but straight pipe? I've heard muffler delete and straight pipe MS6's. Sounds raspy and obnoxious IMHO. To each their own.

I've read that the sure mounts hold up great and a lot of people seem to get them, never heard of one breaking.

I have a corksport rmm.

My exhaust is fully stock and I'm not looking to upgrade power that much, for reliability reasons. I just want something louder.

I just replaced my SURE RMM, with a Damond this past weekend.

SURE was on there for 5, close to 6 years if I recall correctly. I was afraid of what I was going to find after reading everything here, but surprisingly, there wasn't a scratch on it.

Here we see the new speed owners in their natural habitat.

"my car isn't loud enough"
"I want a BOV so people hear my turbo"
"I don't need internals because my car runs fine"
"I don't need to pay for a tune, because I just graduated hs and vaping is more important"

"my engine blew"

So I went to quest auto in overland Park yesterday and had them check out the exhaust to see how much they would charge for a 3 inch catback.

$700, short story don't go there unless you wanna get ripped off.
