Ok, the SOUND DEADNING is gone with the exception of those two thin stripes. For the record, the weight was 13 lbs.
the dash was a bitch, I brought the whale back home, she is 21.4 lbs! The passenger air bag is 4.4 lbs and the driver (steering wheel) airbag is 2.8 lbs.

These weight have not been confirmed as of yet

Pulled the AC system today.
The inside the cabin A/C unit is 17.2 lbs (that includes all the plastic things, and blower, heater core, etc).
The condenser and the refrigerant lines in the engine bay are 7.6 lbs.
Total is 24.8 lbs.
Anyone knows how heavy the AC compressor is?
Assuming the AC compressor is about 20 lbs, the whole AC system is about 45 lbs, not a huge amount, but respectable for weight reduction and all the shit comes from the front!
Downmented likes this.

Good start. There is a lot of weight that can be removed from both 6 and 3. I have a bunch of measurements I took over winter, I'll have to dig them out and post it here. Measured clutch, flywheel, pads, rotors, stock/kw shocks, springs, sway bars, etc.

Planning on taking out a few more things to drop the weight another 100lbs or so. Still have stock seats, a/c, stereo stuff and heavy ms cbe.

Here is the car as it sits with a bit more than 1/4 fuel and without driver, corner balanced it as best I can. With driver is still at 50.0% after a bit of adjustment. I was surprised how little I had to do when I put on adjustable endlinks.

I weighed my spare tire awhile back. Came to 42 lbs. I think ours is different than the MS3 on due to AWD.

So the picture of the scale showing 49.9% is with a driver? How do you shift weight sideways in the car to get it corner balanced?
That's a lot of weight on the front compared to back. Seems like you know about suspension. What set up are you running? springs, shocks, sway bars? I also dont get how you corner balance weight with adjustable end links.

Here's all the crap I weighed when I did my initial gutting of the car:

Washer fluid reservoir (full): 12 lbs
heater core/evaporator coil: 11 lbs
a/c fan housing/blower/motor & ducts: 9 lbs
a/c lines: 4 lbs
a/c radiator (condeser) coil: 4 lbs
CP-E single exit CBE with only 14" resonator: 22 lbs
Rubber exhaust hangers: 2 lbs
under car exhaust heat shield (muffer & midpipe): 6 lbs
Driver (steering wheel) airbag: 2.5 lbs
Front passenger airbags: 5 lbs
Side curtain airbags (each): 2.5 lbs/each
Metal faux tips: 1 lb/each
Rear door panels: 10 lbs/each
Rear seat cushion: 10 lbs
Trunk lid liner: 2 lbs
Trunk liners: 1 lb/each
Trunk floor board cover: 7 lbs
MS6 Floor mats: 7 lbs
Rear seat back driver side section: 25 lbs
Rear seat back pass. side section: 15 lbs
Rear seat side cushions: 3 lbs/each
Rear deck w/ seat belt modules: 11 lbs
Door speakers (polk audio 6.5s): 2.5 lbs/each

I think I have the front and rear bumper rebars too. I'll have to weigh them. I pulled the rear off and I have the front off right now from when I pulled the motor.

Planning on cutting more weight out too. Trying to get to just under 3k lbs with me in it.

Great info here, so for someone who daily's their 6, is the trunk linings, floormats, and spare tire really the most acceptable items to have removed? Because i dont have tint (yet) and i ride with 3 or 4 people in the car on occasion so removing the rear seats are kind of out of the question for me right now. But i do agree this car is damn heavy from stock

i dont see why not as that is how i ride.... As long as you have the spare and jack in there for flats your good unless you dont mind waiting for AAA... then you can save about 70lbs everyday driving.

Ant, put the wheels from your 3 on your 6...I know it's not much saved weight but everything helps. I also suggesting taking a laxative.

did you take off the door panels ect. also? one day id like to get down to 2600 pounds.

never done that befor, im thinking would have to totally strip the car, seats, carpet, door panels ect. and see what you can take out, cut out, and put back the stuff you want. and get under car and remove anything thats not totally nessesary. but then again it might not be possible without major changes. just brain storming

no we didnt take the door panels out but i think you will have a pretty hard time getting down to 2600 lbs. That is about 300lbs off what we did. unless you go with lexan windows no door panels, CF hood and doors you might get close.... Those were 18lb wheels and the lightest exhaust you can get unless you delete the exhaust all together. One thing that was heavy on there was the medevil manifold that we used..

old thread I know but I want to spark it up again.

What lightweight batteries are you lightweight guys running? I've heard braille is the best, next is odyssey but if you don't drive them for a day you have to leave them on a trickle charger or something?

posting for later.

I pretty much gutted my trunk, really want to relocate my battery back there to keep the weight ratio somewhat balanced.

Those are pretty good batteries but i do think that you will need to have the batteries consistently charged if left for long period of time. I myself am running the optima battery in my car. I myself dont think its worth it for the possiblilty of coming outside and my car wont start.

I think there are other thing that could be done that could loose those lbs and not have the same ill effect. I would just put the battery in the trunk and even the weight out. I think those batteries are about maybe 10lbs lighter... Your floor mats are pretty close to that!!

Charles, I need light weight rims/tires. Do you have a set for sale or do you recommend anything. I'm trying to stay under 40 lbs for tire+rim.

@Captain KR; Here is your weight reduction thread.

Also, what is the lightest anyone has gotten their MS6 down to so far? There has got to be some other weight reduction techniques that we have not found yet.
