Default rear diff "stiff diff" brace vs. rear diff front mount

Dont have the money for both, searched both and both look like great upgrades. was wondering if any one had an opinion on which one to get if i can only get one.

is one more needed/beneficial for the other.

current mods - ht tune, cai, tip, tp, tmic

if i do more upgrades it will prob only be a cb and or dyno tune w a ap. - not sure if that would make a diff in which mount to get

thx in advance for you opinions/advice

*most* people only get the front diff mount. and that is *usually* sufficient.. unless you are qrtermile beast and have the front turbine tech mount and still snap the rear one.

but in all honesty, the front one is the one to get. im assuming you wont be busting out 1.6 60' times so you will be fine.

why not get the front one and just get bushings for the rear one, they aren't expensive from turbine tech. i've been running that combo for 3 years now without any problems.

I just saw the bushings on SU website, If I buy those they fit right into the stock part? If so I would prob get the front mount + those.

I also see a lot about the rear motor mount. But I remember looking @ it with 60k miles on the car and it looked great (maybe the previous owner replaced it bc i bought the car used)so I am hesitant to buy a new one if the stock one isnt as bad as everyone says. I was pretty suprised to see it in such good shape especially with the way i drive and the few mods i have.

do yous guys have a rmm?

um... how do i say this..
ahhhh rear motor mount.
if it is stock. which you can tell just by looking at it if it isnt (it will most likely be machined and not a cast mount)
then replace it with either the cp-e, streetunit, or i think SURE makes one too.. it doesnt matter if it "looks good" the stock rmm is garbage
and then thank me later.

its not just replacing it with it stiffer mount blah blah blah, it literally makes the drivability of the speed6 so much better. saves those harsh 1-2 shifts, you dont feel the engine move as much when you tap the gas or shift quickly. it is money well spent.

It actually is from the bushings, if you look how terrible they are they allow way to much movement causing it to snap. the new bushings don't allow it to move at all.

rear motor mount is good for getting rid of the engine movement that causes hard shifting.

also look into the AWR rear mount, i have the 88 durometer one and the vibrations it add really aren't that bad or even felt, and basically not noticeable if you have a AP and can up your idle.

when i say it looked good i just meant the bushing wasnt torn on it or anything it. the car drives harsh so i guess even a stock non ripped one sucks. i really dont want any vibes @ all its my daily driver so i was looking to get the soft or normal duro rated one.

i would like nice smooth shifting though.

yeah, i have the CP-e rmm, and really, you could kinda tell for about a week or so that it was stiffer, but still its not like it vibrates everything. then after that, it broke in a little bit and you really dont even notice it at all. if anything, my exhaust causes more vibrations than my motor mounts do. hahaha

forget the front diff mount.

has anyone heard of a failure of the front one? no

get the stiff diff and be done with it. those are the bushings that are hollow and allow all the movement.

Ugh, here's the deal.

Front MOUNT doesn't fail. Front mount BOLTS fail. They fail because the dumbasses at Mazda only attached that mount to ONE side of the diff casing and did so with non-grade series bolts. However, grade series bolts might crack the aluminum casing, so the BEST option is to get a front mount that has additional connection points, like the Turbine Tech or the upcoming (soon) SURE Juggernaught. The front mount prevents twisting and side-to-side movement of the diff, but plays a limited role in power delivery to the wheels.

The TOP MOUNT (rear diff rear mount, same thing) is the primary power-bearing mount, and it actually breaks. The arms themselves AND the connecting bolts shear. The cheap ass bushings allow so much movement that SOMETHING has to give, and the mount itself is shit-cheap, so usually the arm goes.

I highly recommend doing both mounts, but if one is going to break, it's MUCH better for the front mount bolts to shear. Mine did, and I was still able to drive (lightly, like a grandma) until I replaced them, which was easy as cake and cheap ($36 for the replacement bolts from Mazda). However, if the top mount breaks just right, you could lose your whole damn diff and axles. And as qtrmile beast found out, if just one arm or a bolt goes, you'll bog every launch.

IMHO, do both. I am. As soon as the Jugg is in, both are going on my car, and I won't launch hard until they're on. It's worth the money to lose the headache and worries.

As far as an RMM, its primary purpose in the MS6 is to reduce motor movement that results in shift thump during hard shifting. It also puts power to the wheels more effectively, but is not nearly as crucial as the diff mounts IMHO.
