With the bigger EWG you should be abke to run a much stiffer spring without fear of big spikes a small IWG would get. The best way to set boost on any turbo car is to let the WG do most of the work and only fine tune with a boost controler. I would get like a 10psi spring personally.

Yeah I'm doing it at my boys house Tomorrow morning cause I don't have any where else to work on my car. When I had to swap out my slave on my back in the street a car almost ran over my legs......

Chris is coming over to dyno on sat so I have to be back to hang with him.

You need to set the wastegate near your average boost you want to run. I would go at least 1.2 bar..

Thats way too high ! 1.2 bar is like 17.5psi !! If that is the actuators crack pressure you would get HUGE spikes ! You want your spring pressure to be about 70% of your boost target. That will land a mild spike just about dead on your target. Then yoir boost controller will do the job to maintain it.

You can eat up a Busa with 650 if your geared right. I agree with fbpem1 1000 hp on anything with street tires is worthless. I beleive your boys evo was making more in the neighborhood of 500-600

When you factor in a 2psi pressure loss across your piping and IC, it seems like a good place for you to start in your OEM internals. At 1.2 bar the wastegate should be almost fully open, not just cracking open..

I think I have mine set at 1.3 bar, with a 44mm wastage and the EBCS there should be little to no spike at all...Should sit right around 17~18psi for daily driving, and I can turn it up at the track..

I used the 1 bar and 1.4bar spring configurations on my EWG and boost NEVER hit above the spring target
never spiked once with the 35r
as a matter of fact even with the stock turbo, the MBC I was using could tune out the spike due to having both a bleed and ball/spring feature
the TurboXS MBC has this
disconnecting the boost solenoid was the best thing I did for how my car ran
some will disagree and that's OK
the more you dumb down the Mazda ECU, the happier you'll be

lol J/k don't shoot me.
Next thing your going to say is that he rides around on 947whp everyday right? I'm not doubting he made 947hp on a dyno or even if he beat the busa or not, but even if he was driving around on octopus tentacle tires and 15 inch wide wheels, your not sticking 1000 to the ground at any normal speed no matter how many wheels you spin on street tires and damn sure not at 30mph. Maybe in vietnam but not in America. Just sayin

Supra, Mustang, Supra -> RWD
Evo -> AWD = grip at higher power levels, but not 900+ on street tires

You can eat up a Busa with 650 if your geared right. I agree with fbpem1 1000 hp on anything with street tires is worthless. I beleive your boys evo was making more in the neighborhood of 500-600
A 650whp car may be able to beat a busa right off the line and at speeds over 150, but definitely not anywhere in between.

A full 1000hp on street tires may be worthless at lower speeds, but most cars with that much power (if done right) will have a programmable boost controller so you don't see anywhere near that in the first few gears and you can still grip.

I'm retarded. I searched for 'Darrell Cox Racing' and started reading this thread. After reading all 11 pages, I completely failed to realize that nobody has posted here in like 20 days.
