I already had a stock IM, but I don't want to have to swap it out once a year... So I sent it to Whoosh to be ported, but he's going to leave the EGR leg intact, so I can connect it for the OBD2 test and then bypass it the rest of the time...

That mount that pulled the engine off center would have caused the drive shaft to stress, and potentially spray grease.

It didn't really pull it off center, it just sat a 1/2" low on the passenger side.

I've already replaced the drive shaft. The front boot was completely torn. The shop had to have dropped it or kicked something into the boot while the DS was on the ground.

That under-hood shot is sexy as hell. I love the turbo mounted up like that. I hope you get everything worked out soon, I can't imagine having that beast sitting right in front of you without being able to drive her.

I'm not much for unnecessary work.. I want a built, big power motor, but I also want it as reliable, and easy to maintain as possible. Swapping the manifold in and out every year just seems like a big waste of time..

After a year of waiting another few weeks doesn't even bother me...LOL

What are the direct reasons for the egr cel again? I've heard the ecu monitors the IM vacuum level, and expects to see a drop in vac when the egr is open. And if it doesn't it throws the cel right?

Might be a stretch, but could you hook a hose routed off the intake to IM EGR port to fix it and use a different solenoid with the egr solenoid control lines? And on the head side of the egr, you just use the normal block off plate.

Might not be worth it, but would probably work, unless i'm over looking some stuff.

well considering the CEL delete is top priority for cobb next to the FP tables then i think you wont have to wait too much longer.

Hopefully, as long as Cobb's priorities don't shift. I know they've been expanding alot into other platforms recently.

It might work, but you'd have to use the actual EGR valve to correctly mimic the OEM 4-stage egr function. The issue would be matching the vacuum change created by the actual exhaust gas versus what would happen if it pulled from the intake post MAF.. Without knowing what the expected change for each EGR lift value actually is(or even when the egr uses each lift value) it would be very time consuming to monitor the map and EGR to figure it out... IMO it's way more complication than it is worth..

I'm running the SB, but if cobb keeps up the AP developement, my SB may become a glorified boost and meth controller....

Quick update.

Got the IM back from Whoosh.
Got the new flashes and SB firmware from CP-E.
Got the new PTP injector seals.

The IM goes to the powder coater on Friday..

I hope to get the IM and injector seals on the car sometime next week, and get the car inspected and registered shortly after...
