Default How do you get the front endlink off?

Hey all, trying to replace my passenger front strut and had it all apart except the damn top nut that is connected to the strut.... I tried to locate it in the forums BUT to no avail.

The nut I am talking about has a hex area in the center of it.

I know they suck but is all I can afford until the CO's

Any help or insight is appreciated. Thanks guys.

are you talking about the nut on top of the strut? you need a 6mm hex and 17mm wrench if that's case. i had a hell of a time removing that nut. went through 2 hex keys and eventually purchased a metric hex socket set ($13). deep offset box wrenches also come in handy for the nut, especially if you're going to konis.

Ok, so I need to hold the hex and turn with an open ended wrench ?

Kinda figured that, but wondered if there was a "trick".... thanks for the replies.

There's no trick. Spray some pb plaster and let it sit for a bit, then a wrench or crow's foot for the nut and and allen key for the bolt. Don't turn the allen key, just hold it in place. I made that mistake once and stripped the inside of the bolt.
