HR coilovers

When I get the chance, I'm pretty sure im going to go with the HR coilovers. But I have a few questions.

1-) Once I get the coilovers, what else will I need to buy?
2-) I want the least bumpy ride I can get, how bumpy are these?

if you want coilovers but you want the least bumpy ride you can get, you should re-think suspension and stay stock. Coils will be stiffer and will be more bumpy regardless, but thats the price you pay for performance. They wont be crazy stiff but be ready for a difference. As far as other things you need to buy, I would recommend you get some rear camber links so your alignment will be ok, and have a good set of tools for the install. Its pretty easy and straightforward install

Well, after I get some after market, rims/tires if it looks too high I want a drop. But from what I've read springs isnt the right way to go because of wear of struts etc.

I'm aware that both springs and coilovers will be bumpy after, but I'm just trying to find the most comfortable for a daily driver.

for a clean drop and comfort with some performance I would say get COBB or eibach springs. They are a nice clean drop that isnt so low it will kill your struts. Coils are great, but they cost alot, and you have to install them and dial them in all legit.

Actually ANY drop past stock will kill your shocks...hell the stock drop is enough to kill the stock shocks!

Since we are basically already riding on our bump stops, even a minor drop is going to reduce shock longevity. With the speed3, you have two real options.

1) coilovers for a drop.
2) Don't drop at all, and swap the shocks for a better more controllable ride.

What about going H&R springs with Koni struts? The setup should be cheaper, you just wouldn't have the luxury of adjustable coilovers. I'm still stuck deciding between this myself: should I go for the H&R coils or do springs with some aftermarket struts.

I know I personally would adjust the coils once (height only on the H&Rs) and then get an alignment and never adjust again most likely. But after reading some of the rave comments on the H&Rs here, makes it hard to pass them up. Afterall, an extra ~$300 for height adjustability and "matched" springs and struts may or may not be worth it for me. Seems like I've read multiple times that people regret not going coils in the first place though...

The extra $300, is well, an extra $300. It's up to your personal driving needs to decide whether or not the coilovers, which it's adjustability being intended for corner balancing to provide a neutral handling characteristic, is worth that extra $300 + cost for said corner balancing and alignment.

If you're looking for the look of a lowered(Read NOT SLAMMED) vehicle with the possible added effect of better handling, then lowering springs with an adjustable shock such as Koni yellows(nothing wrong with bilsteins or non adjustables) may be what you should be looking at.
