ISC N1 Coilover Impression

So I bought a set of ISC N1 Coilovers in Street Sport spring rates (10kg-Front & 6kg-Rear) from a group buy by AJW Performance to replace my stock suspension. I've had them on the car for approximately 5000 kms and here's what I thought of them.

At the $1000 price, these coilovers are pretty similar to any other entry level coilover set up. 32 way adjustable dampening and front camber plates are similar to what you would find with offerings such as Sonic Tuning and BC.

The biggest difference between the ISC N1's compared to other entry level coilovers is the higher spring rates (generally it seems most have 7kg-Front & 4kg-Rear). This translates to a much stiffer ride when compared to the stock suspension. Where I'm from, Edmonton, Alberta, the roads are pretty horrible. This means even on the softest dampening setting it won't soak up bumps that great and when it's set on the hardest dampening setting you might as well be driving with rigid suspension.

Would I recommend these coilovers? If what you're looking for is a stiffer ride, an improved look from being lowered, and/or want the height adjustability for cheap then sure. However, I would suggest a coilover system with a lower spring rate if you live in an area with bad roads or go for a higher end set up such as KW's or the Mazdaspeed coilovers. All-in-all, the ISC N1 Coilovers are basically what you can expect of most entry level coilovers.

Have you thought about trying the replacement springs isc offers for 100 per pair? They don't offer 7k springs though I'm trying to decide between 8k or 6k for front. 10k is not tolerable.

Didn't see this till now. To be honest I can live with the ride for now. It's stiff but not as stiff as some cars I've owned before. I would go 6k if you want more comfort. The sport springs seem way to stiff for the shocks to handle.

Holy thread resurrection, but I'm actually interested in buying these or the bilstein B14 COs. Wondering on how's the ride quality so far besides the stiffness that you mentioned?

Haha no worries. So far they've held up pretty well. Went through a couple of harsh winters and still work like they have since day one. I think I've gotten used to the stiffness though so I don't notice it as much anymore unless I ride someone else's car.

Thanks for the feedback! Kinda leaning more into these now for some starter COs. I like how they're a little under 1k on edge

I've got these coilovers on my car and honestly I wish I had just saved for a couple more months and got good ones. Too bouncy for me and I can tolerate a pretty rough ride....for the extra 6-800 dollars get KW's

No problem. At the end of the day get what fits your budget. Definitely helps to test ride other peoples cars with different suspension set ups though.

This is a valid point. KWs are by far the best riding coilovers. If you're not in a rush, I would save up for them too
