Default Just making sure

Just ordered a new set of intake and intercooler hoses and a go fast bits recirc. Do I need to tune the car before any of this goes on? I have search the forum hi and low and only info I can find is that a tune must be done with a downpipe ect. I understand if get my balls busted on this.

We are much nicer in the CX7 forums. No tune required for BPV unless you go silly and go a VTA BOV.

Have a google search for the Stratified blog. They cover off a lot of issues like this around tuning. Sometimes they also make a thread on MSF about it.

I think you will find there is a thread that tells you not to waste money (like I did) on an aftermarket BOV until you are trying to hold more than 21psi boost with a bigger turbo.
Alpha Wolf likes this.

If it's just the hoses being replaced then no tune is required. As for the BPV if you're running full recirculation then no tune is required. If you're running hybrid you may need to tune to compensate for less air being recirculated through your intake it really depends on how much air is vented to atmosphere. If too much is vented you start running rich when letting off the gas which will result in popping and hesitation. If it's an adjustable hybrid you should be able adjust it just enough where it does not cause issues. Usually this magic number is around 20-35% VTA.

Cool thanks for the help. I found out about the go fast bits adjustable from my buddy who has a wrx wagon. He only does a 25% vta and that keeps his car happy with no codes and the loading up issue and was hoping the same for the 7 as well. I'm trying to get back into tuning and all that again after a nine year break while working on aircraft. I thought I would never forget all the little stuff but time left me in the dust. Catching back up is a bitch. This is all in prep for a more power, but still daily driver drop the kiddos off at school kinda car.

One more thought just came to mind, fuel pump upgrade is that needed as well? Or is that something that can wait for now.

Rule of thumb is HPFP internals for anything more then a intake.

If you have a AP you can keep an eye on your HPFP pressures to see whn you "need" it. but thats a bit sketchy to me. Just do internals if you do more then a intake

Cool easy enough. Any particular brand better than the other? Autotech or KMD? Or this just a price difference.

Autotech is the most proven product. Corksports has a comparison chart on their website. Do your own research and make your own choice. Now that the obligatory first recall is over I gave the Corksport internals a go.

Has been running CorkSport's for a while, I think I have at least 4 track weekends on them, not a single hiccup.
