Default my cx-7 tuning step buy step
I decided to open thread about tuning of my car.
I will make updates after all changes.
Car is 2008 y. with 85.000 km.
Until now I make new intake, maf housing, install new air filter, blow off is new.
Pump internals are changed (by myself- parts from PTP), today I removed balance shaft.
All pictures will follow.
About feelings:
- maf housing, filter and intake make big plus in power. Most benefits are 4000 rpm and up.
- pump internals are working like stock, no difference here (stock ecu soft)
- balance shaft, well, difference is bigger like I was thinking before from reading on forums. It is like switch from 6 to 4 cyl. engine. Engine revs better, pulls better from 5k up, but small vibration in same freq. like exhaust sound are here. Engine runs "harder", like I say, 4 cyl now, 6 before. Nothing to worry I thing, but I can feel them.
I also change oil and filter- EXELIA 5W-30. Without BS 7l of oil inside

Car is manual, ECU tuning will wait until all changes are there (exhaust, metal cat, SST turbo from PTP)
Today I am receiving big brake kit- 355mm rotors, 6 piston calipers .)

Not running jet but it is custom 100%

Now I have a lot of work with preparing of hayabusa engine for work in boat so no time for car.
Here is video of almost finished engine- first run.
There is no clutch inside, no gears, output axle is on opposite side, exhaust (non sequential pairing) and intake (all runners equal ) are custom made (by me), I will make changes in ECU,.....

Some progress on brakes. I have one hat finished, waiting for second.
Screws are there just for sample- after there will be 12.9 screws.

Some news here- A long story about but in short, on 18. january I sent turbo to PTP and yesterday I received official answer from post office: they lost package!!!
I will receive refund of 875 euro (insurance) and after I will not try again.
I will go with GT3071.
With stock internals and some 18 psi of boost it should make a lot of power and I think that internals could survive.

If I will changing rods, maybe put there 0,051 thick gasket?
What is feeling with lower CR?
Is driving with no boost like NA diesel engine or it is no big difference from CR 9.5:1 VS 8:1?

p.s.
Is it enough to change rods? Stock pistons are o.k. for 18 psi?

Brakes are tested and they work PERFECT!
Much more control like stock, no vibrations, braking force is enormous with light push on pedal. ABS can become active at speeds over 100 km/h without any forcing- just a little harder braking.
I dont know how to describe feeling but brakes are handling all weight and speed with ease.
Also weight is 10 Kg lower for ONE axle so 20 Kg for both over stock!!!!

Nice work! A write up on those brakes would be great but I do understand not having the time. I'm hoping the summer will bring some free time for myself to get more done.

Forgot to ask did you upgrade the master and booster when you changed the breaks??

Exhaust is on the car. No light, all working fine, just small leaking on downpipe. I will fix this soon.
Sound is a little boomy on idle but higher sound is fantastic. Not loud, but with sporty tone.
I ll post some pictures tomorrow.

Power gain is big- turbo spools faster, almost no lag, after 4.5 Krpm car pulls stronger and stronger until red line.
My but-dyno telling me about 20 hp minimum gain but probably much more

Sound was disturbing at low rpms when cruising or at idle. Booomy.
I added resonator and now is almost like stock at lower rpms
