I'm still trying to decide how to handle the slight tune differences between the various market regions. I may build separate US and Australian versions.

VersaTuner provides full throttle control as well as many other fully user configurable values contained in 150+ tables and constants. VersaTuner is a flash based solution which provides direct control of the ECU by modifying the ECU software itself. CPE has, as I understand it, discontinued the standback product.

If i install a test tipe or otherwise remove the catalytic converter will i have to install o2 blanks or have them tuned out?

Also, if i go intake and exhaust will i damage my engine without a tune?

I know even a bone stock car can benefit from a tune. Im just worried about damage should either lean out or richen the a/f ratio. Ive never had a Turbo vehicle before.

You will not need to modify the O2 sensors in any way. The primary wideband sensor is in front of the cats, so it makes no difference to that sensor what you do with the cats. The secondary narrow band sensor is between the two cats. It is used for fine tuning air fuel ratios that are very close to 14.7:1 such as at cruise. You can remove the second cat without affecting the secondary sensor. If you remove the primary cat, you can disable the DTC that is set when the ECU senses that the primary cat is missing or failed.

The ECU can adjust for a wide range of operating conditions. Most intakes are designed to run without any tuning. A 3" turbo back exhaust without tuning will result in undesirable boost spikes. Tuning for these modifications will get the most from them. Adding higher flow pipes won't do much if you don't tell the ECU to use the additional flow.

Thanks for the response.

Do i run the risk of damaging anything with just a corksport intake and catback?

Im not going all out with this car. Just want it to sound good and have a little more kick.

Awesome. the 06 f150 i had would run real lean with a cai unless you had a tuner. Some people had real problems. Id like to avoid that.

Correct. Load based tuning. We have eliminated the various load caps, so there isn't a need to boost tune.

Yes.

It's the same functionality as what is available with VersaTuner for the MS6/MS3 minus the launch control and no lift shift.

I probably will, but the PP conversion rate is bullshit:

Since most performance tunes bump the timing a bit and lean AFRs, you will get better fuel economy as long as you keep your foot out of it.

For those that can't resist mashing the pedal, a purpose built econ tune can be made.

I need the second gen. I would like this so I could use it for dyno tuning with a HKS Cx7 Super Suction Intake Kit and cpe catback. You will be able to adjust boost pressure? Also can I the originall tune to change back to incase of warranty problems?
