Default Help with intake manifold

I had a timing chain break, took everything apart and found a couple of bent valves.
Today I have a rebuilt head ready to go back on. When I took off the intake manifold I noticed that a plastic arm that is attached to a rod going through the intake runner had broken off. I'm wondering if my intake is pouched because of this or can the rod with the flapper valves be removed.
I have attached a pic of the valve that attaches to the rod going into the intake runner with the missing plastic arm.
Any help would be much appreciated.

You can remove the flappers like a pnp intake manifold. There is a code you have to turn off through the access port though.

If you have to deal with emissions testing, you're not going to be able to port the intake without throwing a code. You can actually get around this by A) searching the forum, and B) doing what I posted in the link below:
