(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I need to replace the gasket that's between the turbo and the exhaust manifold. I was removing the 4 bolts in the hopes of being able to slip the new gasket between the parts, but then the aft passenger side bolt busted off on me. Now I need to take the whole thing apart. What started off as an exhaust leak has now turned into a major repair. ![]() Does anyone have a link with a description/photos of what has to happen in order to remove the turbo so I can get the stud that broke removed and then put in a new gasket? I'm going to be getting an o2 sensor tool today. Anything else I should get? I have the basic sockets and wrenches. I've heard some 14mm wobble neck wrenches will help. I have a turbo gasket set for the 2 large surfaces and some o-rings that came with it as well. Do I need any other gaskets before tearing this apart? https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...UcjA-bIxpLsn-i Thanks for any help. Last edited by CX-7Pilot; 04-06-2017 at 10:55 AM. (Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score thought I'd post a photo of my problem. I've searched youtube for solutions and the only thing I can think of that might work is welding a washer/nut to the stud. It's about flush with the flange. It might stick out about 1/16th of an inch. I might try drilling it out. I have a compact 90 degree drill fits in the spot. Any suggestions? The local Mazda expert frowned at the idea of trying to weld something to get it out. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Personally, I would try to get it off the car to work on it. I might have enough sticking out without the exhaust flange to grab it with vise grips....
