Default aftermarket batteries

so I took the 7 I'm to have them look for a coolant leak, oil change, and free rotation... when I went to pick up the car the guy proceeds to tell me that they didn't find act leak and topped off the coolant ( the smell/ steam Is back since) and did a "pressure test for free"; that was the good news. the bad news is the battery is all but dead and a tire rod is severely worn. continuing on, he says our battery is so weak they even had to jump it to get it started... the car had never hesitated or had any difficulty state starting. the battery is 138 and that I wouldn't want to get an aftermarket battery because the 7's sometimes have issues/ don't run right..." especially the turbo's". .... I'm like seriously, that's your angle? I mean I've heard some crazy pitches before bit this one is one of my favs! unless I'm missing something... ( common sense?) as I was leaving, he made a big deal about how hewanted me to see if it would start in front of him so that if it didn't, he could jump me...... stated right up, like it had every single time ( had has continued throughout the week).

going to get the battery tested tonight and wanted to see what batteries you all have used and recommend ( not being anything top of the line or fancy.

going to take it back this weekend to get the tie rod fixed ( extended warranty)and have them look at the coolant smell again.

any suggestions?

I hope you did get a metal chair and hit that guy with it.

Just Auto Zone, Duralast Gold. Be done. That is all you really need.

Of course, if you never had problems starting, go to Auto Zone, get it tested. Might have been a bullshit excuse to sell a battery.

Or they left the lights on and killed the battery and decided to blame it on your battery.

i don't have much to offer here as we're usually seeing a preference for smaller batteries to clear space. however, it's better to create a new topic if you're unable to find your answer. let the dead rest in peace.

Clearly the search button was used for me to ask such a question but maybe I didn't use the correct keywords in the search.

LOL, facepalm & flying mower = nice. I pulled out the battery and realized that there is no chance in hell.
It would appear that the insulating box is important heat protection for longevity.

I'll have to install a small battery (kinetix HC600) under/behind the back seat for supplemental power.
