Default DASH EMERGENY BRAKE LIGHT

I have an 09 CX-7 and just went around 61000km. With the recent cold weather, the emergency brake light is on, on the dash when starting the car. It continues to stay on until the brakes have been used enough and have warmed enough to turn the light or sensor off.

I don't use the parking brake often, and it does not feel like the brake is rubbing and interfering with the car in any way. Just curious if others up north, in this current frigid weather are experience something similar to myself. I don't think its serious, but would prefer to nip it in the bud if someone thought it might be.

I don't have any real issues with my stock car. However, does anyone use scan gauge on their car to keep on eye on fuel economy (CX-7 does not have one), and two other functions. Do you use it, like it, recommend it? Is it worth it?

I know that to get reasonably good gas mileage, have a lighter foot, keep your tires inflated properly and take it easy from a red light or stop sign. Sometimes it's hard to.
