Default Front Suspension Noise

Anyone got any suggestions to fix a clicking during impacts in the front suspension? We just got Blizzak WS-70's installed, and they're so freaking quiet, I just now started noticing a lot of noise in the front suspension. Does anyone know if the front suspension top mounts wear out quick on the CX7's?

Nope, we confirmed what that was. The ABS Check happens only once if you get going from a stop after the car was sitting. These are more like click/crunches during impacts.

Passenger side motor mount may be leaking. Look for a pool of brown shit, around it. Will look like it had the Hershey squirts. Ours made noises and crap when it went out. It's a $200 part to replace.

Prob the top mount bearing..... they call it a bushing, many people have had failures on MS3's

I haven't gotten a chance to look but I will tomorrow. Works been real hectic.

Fly, thanks for the tip - mine went bad when i re-installed my stock suspension on the first gen. Immediately started clunking. I'll see if it continues to annoy me (it doesn't bother her) and if it does, i'll have it taken care of before the warranty is up.

Bringing this thread back from the dead. Motor mount had definitely blown up but this wasn't the cause of the suspension clunking.

It gets real bad when it's cold and during certain impacts in the pass. front suspension. Seems to be coming from the top which could lead to the bushing mounts failing. If i'm taking it apart, I may decide to install new front shocks while i'm at it..

Anyone else had any suspension chirping upon impacts? It almost sounds like the strut is banging around in that top bushing.

I've had this clunking coming from the drivers side since i bought the car. The dealerships i've taken it cannot find anything wrong in the suspension. It does it over bumps & such. It's not really a clunk, but it doesn't sound like any other noise i've heard on the suspension on any other cars or other mazda vehicles i drive.

Its the sway bar bushings.... have been replacing mine every winter for the last 4 years... and this year most certainly again.... it gets real bad when temps go minus 10 or colder...
my dealership have finally found greasable bushings that will just need to ge greased once a year instead of changing.

That sounds exactly how the CX-7 sounds when it's cold, only it was doing it for the first couple miles of driving no matter how hot or cold it is outside.

Not to resurrect an old thread, my wifes is like that too a crunching noise comes from both of the two front struts and it sounds horrible but I am sure the whole top assembly will have to be replaced.

Honestly, I have yet to fix this issue (lol) but I'm thinking it's actually the sway bar endlinks. Considering how cheap they are, I may change both front end endlinks to see if this fixes it.

If not, then it looks like I may do a full suspension overhaul (struts, shocks, top mount bushings)

Just from the sounds of it it sounds like a top mount bushing that either needs some grease or flat out replacement...heard though that its an entire assembly which costs some bux

I replaced all of the endlinks on my MS3. I got Moog endlinks off of Ebay for about $130 for the front and rear. They were about $110 from Rock Auto. The Moogs have grease zerts and a lifetime warranty. They are much sturdier than OEM. I would assume that they have them for the CX-7 as well.

i know I get a sweeking type of noise from the sway bar when cornering around town.

On a side note, I recently had to change a ball joint on my honda. I didn't like the way my front end sounded or felt and my wife wouldn't know the difference. Perhaps you have something similar?

I also have a clicking noise coming from the front end 2010 CX-7 Sport ..both sides when changing direction (going forward and then reverse when parking). I really do not know what it is (brakes pads shifting in their mount??) Its like a "click, click" sound.

Im replacing the strut mounts on mine as I think that is where the noise is coming from. I get it when I turn the wheel and as the strut actually spins with the knuckle on CX-7 vs. independent on MS6 (strut mounted to LCA on MS6).

2007 Mazda CX-7 FRONT SUSPENSION MECHANISMS

I bought Monroe strut mounts:

Have to reuse top hat. I need to go rent spring compressor again so I can get these in.

Have to take off this plastic cover in front of cowl to access nuts:

I should also check the sway bar bushings as well but I am more concerned about getting these replaced, getting alignment and getting new Nitto 420s installed before winter. I can replace sway bar bushings after alignment if they are bad as well.
