(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Current OEM pads are the ones that came on the car. 50,000 miles on them. Rear pads showed up but not the front. Seems they shipped the fronts out a day later separately. WTF? Why would you ship these separately?? Hope the fronts get here today... Sorry for my short hand.. Red Stuff Pads.... LOL

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Well I pulled the wheels and did the brakes today. I was shocked actually at how much pad I had left. I expected them to be worn down. I could have gone another 25,000 miles from the looks of them ... LOL All 4 disks looked fine with no grooves etc so I just re-used them. Red Stuff Pads come with extra backing plates and some of the clips. I chose to clean and reuse the OEM clips and backing plates as they are Cadnium plated. And they have no wear on them. I did use 2 cans of Brake Cleaner to clean everything up while I had it apart. Very easy to do. Only thing to watch is the front inside pad has a clip that goes on the front side edge and it points away from the pad. Not sure what this is supposed to do but whatever. Red Stuff pads come with a break in compound on the pads that does make some noise when using the brakes. As this extra abrasive is used to lap your pads to your disks. They stated that it takes between 200 and 600 miles to get through this layer and for the pads to quiet down. I only have 10 miles on the car today since installation. First impression is braking power is good. It has a little more initial bite than the OEM. After 600 miles I will test them out with some hard braking from 60 etc... Quality pads. So far so good. ![]() To get your pistons back in the calipers so you can put them back on the new thick pads, place an old pad on the piston, then use a C-Clamp of the correct size to clamp to the pad and the back of the caliper and it just goes in without any problem when you screw down on the clamp. The two bolts holding the front calipers on are different diameter and length so pay attention as to which one came from what hole. I used my impact gun to remove and then only lightly screw on the wheel nuts. Then I used my large torque wrench to tighten them down using an X pattern. Front uses a 17mm to remove the bolts and the rear uses a 14mm.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score 1000 mile update... A lot of dust generated while the break in material was present. Once that is gone very little dust present. Quiet pads. No squeeks etc. Power not that much different from stock pads.. A little more initial bite at light pedal pressure.
