Default new tires... (cx-7)

So I'm coming up to 70k miles. Got Nittos at 32k, had the Bridgestone stockers. I liked the Nittos fine, though they haven't lasted all that much longer than the stockers. I've been looking at tires at Onlinetires.com - TIRES Search Results

Among the tires with the same wear/load/speed ratings the only difference I can see to use to decide is tread pattern and price...

I think the Nittos look cool, but kinda would like to try something different, that also looks cool...

what would you get?

I have Hankook Ventus AS RH07 as my winters and haven't had any complaints. I've had them since I bought the car (about 5,000 miles) no complaints really. Great in snow, but that could be due to the awd. Not a lot of road noise, but they don't really have an agressive tread pattern. I have Yokohama AVID ENVigor's on now, but only about 1,000 miles. They are about the same so far. I haven't really got on them. Both sets have like a 60,000 mile warranty, so they may be up your alley, but those warranties are subjective to your driving habbits and prolly be a huge fight to get your money out of them. I use discounttiredirect.com and have nothing but good things to say about them.

Looks good, I am runnign stock Bridgestone Duellers (crap) are 235/60s as well on RX-8 rims.

These rims need the 255/55...Im moving to those soon, once I find a good deal on the Nittos or Nexens...

Would be great if I lived in the US. Yes they ship free to Canada, but the prepaid duties is $250.

Nittos run over $200 + tax (%13) here (canada).

Id appreciate that ...Even if you sent them as a gift id still pay ashitload in shipping.

I'm about 1 hr or so away from Port Huron MI. Im gonna see if I can ship to a shop there, drive across, have my tires swapped and trash my Bridgestones, they're doen anyways.

Unbleiveable the diff is about $300 for the same frickin product.

Ive had them about 5k miles now. I like they way they look obviously. but other than that they do really good in the rain. taking fast turns they arent to bad either. they stick pretty well but give just enough to let you finish the turn properly

Well I got the Nexens. I live 10 miles from the warehouse for Onlinetires.com | Wheels and Tire Packages | Tires & Wheels for Cars & Trucks, so no shipping costs. They don't carry the Nittos anymore, and I wanted to try the Nexens, which have a bit better wear ratings and looked cool. So far (only 500 miles, long way to go for real feedback) they are really quiet and smooth, good grip, I like them a lot. I think they are quieter than the Nittos were when brand new, but 2 years ago is hard to say I know what I heard.

Anyway, $122.21 for the Nexens is a good deal.

Bridgestones or Goodyears? I had Bridgestones, they were ok, but only lasted 28k miles. Most people got less than that on them. Pretty crap, they have a bad reputation. Nittos lasted 40k, had more grip, looked better and drove better, were way cheaper than any Bridgestone/Goodyear/Michelin tire I could find.

I have an 09 cx-7 GTAWD and I'm going to need tires this summer too. I noticed you guys talking about, I'm assuming, wider tires. I have steels for my winters, and the stock mags with the original tires the car came with for the summers. The question is can I go to the 245/60/18 on the stock mags as I have no problem with them.
