(Thread Starter) |   Not Ranked : 0 score  Rear brakes Hi all, 1st post here. I'll keep it brief. At 58k my wife's cx7 needs new rear pads (so says the tech when BOTH her rear wheel bearings were replaced). There is a grinding noise under braking, and I know the parking brakes are in rough shape from lack of use. I have new pads (akebonos), rotors (AC Delco Duralast) and new parking brake hardware and pads. I've done drum and disc brakes before, but never drum in hat parking brakes. Any diagrams or tricks I should know in advance would be great. I'll take a photo, and do 1 side at a time, but just wondering if there is the one trick that I'll only learn from someone having done it (or me doing it). Thanks in advance. Bummed that the pads are worn after 58k, and that the rears wore faster than the fronts... I'll be checking the slides for sure to make sure everything moves well. Best, Liam |
