Hey guys,

any one have more pics of the OCC installed on the CX-7?

I'm still trying to understand the hose routing...

Were did you installed your catch can (oprion1, option2). I'm not comfortable cuting drilling a hole into the undertray but I like much better option2.

@mikomi, Otto, Any one has the pic from the intake manifold (IM) where to attach the hose. Think I found it underneath the CAI pipe. Is that correct?

Dang that aera is fucking tigth...

This is where I'm stuck now. Because from there I can start routing the hose and mount the catch can.

OK So far I have the PCv out. I found it helpful to spray some 10EW10 on the metal cramps to make it slide on the black hose.

The factory PVC is attached at 2 ends. The first end to the Intake Manifold (IM) and the second end to another hard plastic connector. Removing the PVC from that hard plastic is the heart of the install. It was so ginkcuf (read the other way around) hard to get the pvc out here without breaking it.

The trick I did was to spray enough 10W40 on the top of the connection between the PVC and plastic valve. Once the lubricant find his way in there then it easier to twist iit left and right and in a matter of 1 minutes until it's out.

Just wanted to share. I'm still underneath the car.

this is a shitty picture for it, but you can see where i put the arrow. that is the occ on mine. the release nozzle sits just under the front bumper lower skirt allowing me to open it without hassle... hope this helps.

Yeah Otto, unfortunately I can't see behing the FMIC pipes. But is there a hole on the chasssis where I can attach the OCC?

This means when you put the front bumper in the OCC is feating completly behind the bumper hole right? Did you had to cut out the the underwheels platic cover to have the release ventile out?

im sure this is too late now, but there are quite a few holes in that area to run bolts through. the plastic skirting had to be cut to allow the vent to protrude. but its a clean install imo. good luck!

I see there are MS3 and MS6 kits available. Do they fit CX-7? Or I need to buy the OCC and all the tubing / mounts separately.

Also, how frequently do you need to drain this thing? Will every oil change be OK, or need to do it more often?

You'd have to ask, but I think the MS6's OCC kit would probably be a better fit. The engine bay layout of the CX-7 is the same as the MS6 with some slight differences.

I have an other question. Can I take the car to a 1 mile ride without the PCV hose and without the OCC install? Is that good for the engine?

What the heck is going on with the OCC hose and the green PCV part.

There is no way I'll get that think in there. I tried already all lubrificants: fluid soap, 10W40, that thing is not getting in.

The black suplied balck hose is to hard and not flexible. On the top of that there is no room there to push the hose a little bit on the top of the green PCV.

What the fuck is this install

OK I found the trick with the black hose and the green PVC.

With soap on it and then couple drops of watter, take a screw driver and push from underneath the car and I'll plug in like butter.

Hopefully, I'll be able to make some pictures because my wife is out with my Iphone and I'm not finding the camera.

this was one of the painfull work I ever did on a car. Anyway some lessons learned.

So the main issue was having the supplied black hose into the green PCV. The supplied hose DOES NOT FIT. I ended up bying a bypass connection from home depot in order to reuse the stock hose that was there before. I just wished some one would have share that information with me earlier. It would have save me days or thinking and work on the car.

Any how here some pics. I'll update comments some time later on.

in the states. i found a local shop (always support local biz!) and the install was done in a few hours. the hoses look the same as yours, but to tell you the truth, i never really looked at it until i took the front bumper off. it was totally worth it... as with the DP, i shoulda paid someone to do that shit...

Nope, no way that hose will fit bro. If you have access to the green PCV (by removing it) yeah, you can have it fit, but how you'll put it back on?

Sideways is not that good. Try relocating it. Did you not get instructions for this kit? I know it is tight up there, small handed friends recommended.

Hi Raider,

I did go that way because if you look at Superstretch's install, the can is installed higher. Therefore the fluid will have to find his way up into the can, from the bottom to the top.

So I'm risking to have the oil trapped in the hose and will back up to the engine through the intake manifold and the PCV openings, if it can't make it to the can. I'll need confirmation from you/other forumists, on that setup.

Was Superstretch's (or someone else running a similar setup) was able to get any oil drained in the can with that setup?

Also why are you not comfortable with my can install(Sideways)? Even tho the oil will flow from the top to the bottom and the bottom part of the hose attached to the can is straight and linear. This will make it easier for oil to flow into the can.

Is the bad fluid going the to can an air/oil mix? If that case it'll explain why it can need to be attached higher, but I'm still not getting your point.

I am just worried that it will fill that side of the can and start going back up the hose.

I have seen where people have installed them along the inner part of the frame rail on the driver's side, right below the intake. I am going to try and find where MS6 owners have mounted theirs, as that is where we should.

OK I got your point. It'll be nice to hear/see how other CX-7/MS6 users installed their.

I'll be more interested to know, how they ran the hose to the can. Basically if the hose ran straight to the can or it's ran with the "S" or Sinus form. And it they case they ran it as a Sinus what quantity where they able to get into the can.

air flows through occ, and oil/contaminants drop to the bottom of the can. if you have it sideways, it will be WAY less effective and prob send it into the hoses. fix that shit man. machen was du willst, aber richtig ist jetz nicht.

Installed! The matt damond kit is badass. I bought a used can, but got his check valve. As expected, inside frame rail under the intake is best. Used a bracket to an existing bolt. Shitty phone pics included. No zip ties were needed, and the black hose looks oem.

Just emptied out the can. For less than 800 miles (from the last install), I'll say there was quite a bit shit in the can. I was wondering were all that fluid was going for all the 25.000 miles I've been driving this car. Crasy

BTW I just noticed something weird. So It looks like my OCC closing/opening valve is not closing properly. Don't know but it sounds like it's not. I can hear some sounds, you know like you'll blowing air through the OCC. Is that normal at all?
I didn't noticed it the last time, may be because It was lining horizontally. Now that I have it up right, I don't know I'm just not sure...

I turned the opening/closing valve until it hits the yellow bulb close to the bottom of the can.

Just not sure if you noticed the sounds (sounds like air is leaking) from the side where the OCC is attached.
