Default Viper 5901 w/ Remote Start Installed!!

I just got my alarm installed by a local shop dude. It took him 5 hours to do the install. Everything works great! Alarm is working great. Remote start is awesome...the only negative about it is that I can never park in gear anymore...oh well...anyone else got a remote start installed on their Speed3 or Speed6?

I used to install alarms/remote starts. I had one in my Spec-V until I accidentally left it in gear one night. Next morning when I started it, I felt the house shake. Come outside and I see the car smashed into the garage. Talk about an epic fail. Congrats, just be careful.

Also, did they bypass the clutch with a relay? Some places get lazy and just jump the wire. Problem with that is your cruise control won't work cause the car always thinks the clutch is being pressed. Good luck and enjoy.

This guy who did my install have done two previous alarm installs for both my tC and my Si. I have the Viper 5900 installed on the Si and the Viper 771 installed on the tC. The guy bypassed the clutch with a relay for me. I say that if you know how to do the install then install it yourself, but if you don't then go to someone you trust to do the install.

Take it back and tell him to hook up the neutral safety wire.

It is black/orange in pin 1S at the PCM under the hood. If he hooks up the neutral safety wire properly the RS won't even attempt to crank the car unless your in neutral..

You don't need any parts. The alarm already has a neutral safety wire input, but the installer just grounded it--If he connects it to the car's neutral safety wire it will work as DEI actually intended it to.

cool i will call my installer up and let him know.

Update: So I called up my installer and he said that he did just grounded the alarm's neutral safety input wire. I asked him to connect the neutral safety wire on the alarm to the neutral safety wire on the car's ECU. He said that he could do that, but he needs to know where the car's neutral wire is located. So where is it located?

I have the 5900, but I did not get the remote start installed because I had no use for it. I did however get the turbo timer hooked up and its a great peace of mind to be able to arm the alarm while the turbo timer is still going.

It's at the ECM under the hood, or he could search for it in the transmission harness.

I'm strongly considering installing a 5901 on my MS6 in the near future. I'm sick of the 5 foot range on the OEM transmitter.

I'm surprised these shops installed the alarms on a manual trans, especially bypassing the neutral safety switch. About 5 years ago I couldn't find an installer that would touch remote start on a manual, so I did it myself.

Anyone have the MS6 wiring chart? I keep finding diagrams for the M6 but im not sure how much they differ with the advanced keyless system on the MS6.

can you change that remote to be vibrate only? their website isn't all that clear if it can be set to vibrate only mode.

the sensitivity can be adjusted to your liking...up to level 15, which mine is set at because it was not mounted to the firewall. You will have to cut open one programmer key and extract the chip then mount it somewhere close to the key ignition area. My extracted key is still useable.

slice the plastic piece in half vertically and extract the small immobilizer chip from the key, then mount the chip close to the place where you insert your key.

There are several different parts available that will bypass the immobilizer without having to destroy a key.

my key still works...just that the immobilizer chip had been extracted. just put the black plastic fob back together after taking the chip out.

6/MS6 Factory Alarm Arm/Disarm:

blue or blue/white ;BCM, 24 pin plug, pin 7J

Meter this wire while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder. Arm is negative trigger thru a 1000 ohm resistor. Disarm is a straight negative trigger. MUST use relays. The BCM (Body Control Module) is in the driver kick panel.

3/MS3 Factory Alarm Disarm:

black/white ;driver kick or PJB, brown 32 pin plug (J-06), pin AA

The PJB (Passenger Junction Box) is behind the glove box. Meter this wire while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder. Disarm is a straight negative trigger.

Hmm so you can get this installed without the remote start? That's something I'd really like because I don't want it but I do love this alarm.
