Well bored tonight and have been thinking about putting up a build thread on the 99 Miata that has been in the family for about a year and a half. I first picked it up in the summer of 2012. It was a 99 with a "swapped motor" unk miles with a Jackson racing M45 supercharger. I picked it up for 3500. Got tired of all the idle problems and other things so I took off the supercharger and sold it and invested in at turbo setup.

The car put down right at 200 tuned at almost 11 psi. It was a local dyno tune. I hardly ever drove the car. A local blew his motor so it was on loan to him for a few months. Once I got it back I let a buddy track race it. When I finally wanted to run the piss out of it I snapped a belt and overheated the motor. The car had been smoking for a bit anyways (Bad turbo seals?). So we swapped on a new belt and that one snapped on the way to the track within a 2 miles. The car at this point was spewing white smoke so I drove it to a friends house about a mile away.

There it sat for about 4 months. I finally got it towed home and removed the motor. As of now the motor is at the Machine Shop. I plan on assembling the bottom end myself. Not sure what setup I am going with. Also getting the head cleaned.

Nice. I'm about to transplant aaron's turbo setup into our 2001 track car. Looking forward to a little boost in this tiny car. He's figured out most of the issues before he spun the bearing on his built motor. Lucky me. Going to be putting up a build thread myself soon.

I'm mad jealous that your are getting that setup. It is a beast for sure!

DIYPNP. It was supposedly the one used to make the 99 models for the PNP.

Well instead of transplanting the setup from Aaron car I decided to just keep our 2001 LS stockish and let my wife play with that car and I'm just going to buy the car whole from Aaron and fix the built motor. He's already done all the research and hard work. No sense in screwing that all up. 400hp miata rocket here I come!!!!!
