(Thread Starter) | Neutral : +4 score alright guys...like many of you, I got tired of waiting around for someone to make a cheap, good looking lip for our cars that. I finally bit the bullet and ordered an 06-07 STi v-limited lip for my speed and decided to try something custom since their front bumpers have a similar shape and because it is urethane. It arrived last week, worked on my car Saturday nearly all day, and towards the end of the day I was able to spend about an hour to an hour and a half to get the lip to work to perfection. Now, while it looks like it fits perfect, it did not come that way. It took quite a bit of trimming and mocking up and some bending to get everything in place to run the screws through, but all in all...I could NOT be happier. I absolutely love it. I have crappy pics for now until i get the car clean. Let me know what you guys think. I think it looks like it belongs on this car. I had an HD lip on the car before it and it got shredded to pieces. Oddly enough, since I have installed this, i have not scraped the car a single time. It could have more to do with lowering the rear of the car more, but still. Very pleased. Run down of how me and my buddy installed the lip. I definitely recommend two people if you decide to try this. this is where i purchased the lip. Make sure it is for a 2006-2007 STi and that it is a V-Limited Urethane Lip. http://www.ebay.com/itm/370583074971...84.m1497.l2649 -started by putting a piece of electrical tape vertical on the top of the lip to mark the center point. I also did the same thing on the bumper. -I lined up the tape on the lip to the tape on the bumper. -placed a long strip of double sided tape on the top edge of the lip on the portion that sits below the grill that has the mounting tabs. -I taped the lip to the bumper to line everything up and hold it in place while we mock fit the rest. -I then grabbed a pair of dikes, and pulled the ends of the lip where it goes to the edge of the bumper/front fenderwell and cut a few inches off each end so that the length fit better and didn't hang into the fender well. -starting in the middle, we ran a single screw through the center point to hold the lip, and then from there, alternated left and right going one screw at a time until we got under the fog lights. -Then from there, I pulled, and tugged on the lip to hold it in line with the edge of the bumper while my buddy ran the screws through. -Once we got to the end caps, I took the pair of dikes and trimmed up the ends so that they fit snug against the stock splash shield that is on the edge of the bumper (as you can see in the pics above). We then placed 2 more screws on the end caps to hold it snug. -to finish off, I went back through with some additional self tapping screws with black plastic washers and drilled them in to give additional support and so that there are no gaps. -teh end.
