| Not Ranked : 0 score Worth a shot. I paid more for the TYC brand name and bought the whole MZ6 hl's for the lenses because I've had good luck with TYC. It is kind of a PITA to swap lenses, but at the end of the day, it's only a 3-4 hour process start to finish. Whatever you do, do yourself a favor and get the retrofit projector kit from TRS.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Arrived last week. Box with chinatalk all over it and everything. Haven't even opened it. I have to shuffle lenses, LEDs, and projectors between the two cars before EMWNM, so it will likely be done next week.

Mine are yellow as hell and replacement units are $900AUD easy. Ordered these lenses and a TRS RetroQuik kit instead. EDIT: For the record, these are the lenses I've ordered. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk Last edited by kylemd; 09-02-2016 at 10:27 PM. Reason: Added link to lenses I bought. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score They're as advertised. Fit is on point. Markings indicate same design criteria. No regrets here. Will be ordering another set. Side note, I want to slap the guy that designed the headlight asm. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score Question: TRS projectors - Aren't our cars came stock with projectors already!??!? Lens swap - Did you have to bake the housing open? Or was it simply some screws or clips holding the lens in place? I want a new lens for my lights too....

Yes, bake, or heat gun the housing to open it. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score Forgot about this thread, but over Christmas I received and installed my new lenses from Aliexpress As expected they appear to be genuine - as far as I can gather most standard Mazda 6 parts from China are, as they were made under licence by FAW there. I learned a few things while I was doing the install and in retrospect there's a number of things I would have done better or different. So a few tips if you decide to go down this road: Definately install the TRS Mazda 6 RetroQuik kit. It replaces the stock low beam projectors with a much better bixenon projector. Removing and reinstalling the lens is easy. Lightwerkz has a very good video that is a prerequisite to this job. Do all the jobs you can possibly do in there before resealing the light. The RetroRubber gives a much better seal then the stock butyl (which is total rubbish) so it's considerably harder to reopen. In terms of what those jobs are: Factory ballasts are stupidly expensive, and the igniters are impossible to access without the lenses off, so wire up a aftermarket ballast and igniter now. Run the wires out the bottom of the light, and find some sort of rubber grommet to run the wires through to prevent condensation getting in there. Most aftermarket ballasts I've seen look like they'd screw in to the factory location, if not there are brackets around. The standard indicators are quite hard to retrofit with LEDs as they are a BAU15S (offset socket). There are decent options around - this is what I'm using - but I'd fit VLED Tritons in hindsight. You'd need to do this while the lens is off, as it would have to mount deep inside the light, be wired up to the indicator wires inside the headlight, and the stock bulb holder tube cut down so it can be reinstalled as a seal. Otherwise, if you're installing BAU15S based LEDs, install your load resistors inside the light so you don't get hyperflash - as there's no other (easy) way to get them installed due to the bulb holder tube. I'd get a bulkier option like VLEDs resistor and keep it away from the rest of the loom to be safe. If you plan on installing LED parkers test fit them now. They probably won't fit if they're a bulkier bulb, so file down the plastic bracket where the parker socket mounts (behind the high beam bowl). Just unscrew the adjusters all the way, pop it out, sand (with gloves on - SKIN OILS WILL STRIP THE CHROME OFF OF THE HIGH BEAM REFLECTOR.) Standard you can barely fit anything in there, but after a minor sand I could fit bulbs with a Cree emitter in it which works really well. Do make sure that it very easily slides in and out, as trying to retrieve a bulb that's fallen inside the light is NOT FUN. If you really want to, and you can find one to fit, go ahead and install the integrated fog lights between the high beam and indicator. As for reinstallation: Be very careful screwing the indicator assembly into the lens. The tabs are fragile; I've broken all three of mine. I don't believe it makes a huge difference but if I can save somebody the hassle then good! Be careful with your spring clamps when resealing the light; part of the outside of one of my lights cracked but it didn't affect sealing or aesthetics. Be so so so careful with the adjusters as they are like glass...I broke two, ended up having to reopen one which was a right pain in the ass. Ended up harvesting adjusters from another light. Hope this is helpful! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I've had a look on both Ali and Taobao and haven't found any. I seem to recall a Russian retrofit site having some but I can't find it again. Alternatively, provided you can find a freight forwarder that will send car parts you can always just get some cheap headlights like these ones and use those as either a base or parts bin. Dunno if they're genuine or not. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk |
