Default Subwoofer HELP!!!!!!

Ok, so my Bose sub blew and I bought a Boss replacement, I don't care about adding an amp or getting another Bose speaker. I bought the Boss cheap and am sticking with it. The help I need is, wtf is with the wiring of the stock sub. I screwed up and cut the wires and then I ended up using connectors to connect the wires where the stock (black and white) connectors were. So the wiring is all the same and all I'm doing is replacing the speaker but it doesn't work. I took apart the whole Bose speaker including the silver box with a white long connector on it. I see that the 4 wires after the black and white connector go into the long white connector on the silver box (now 5 wires) and then two green and two orange go from the silver box to the Bose sub. The two green go to the positive and the two orange go to the negatve-I think. Does anyone know if I can connect the 4 wires to the speaker and what do they mean. I figured out that the black wire is the ground, but the blue/red stripe, black/red stripe and the brown wires I can't figure out. HELP! Where can I go from here? Can I get the toyota or GM wire harness from Walmart and how do I wire it so my sub works.. I've been looking online for 2 weeks now and can't find out what wires mean or which are pos or neg. HELP HELP HELP. I'm about the rip all the wires out and f it. Oh yea I have a 2006 ms6.

I am a vip and I have searched. I looked through 5 pages of about 25 posts on each page, but they allllllll are with amps. I do not to install a amp. And am wondering if that is possible. I have all the wiring from the stock bose sub and when i hook it up to the boss 8 inch sub i get no sound. Now do I NEED an amp? Because I would like to just splice/join/connect the 4 wires in the trunk to a sub that I have installed in place of the old sub.

Ohm out your sub, make sure the sub is OK. The get your volt meter and put it on ac current and Play some music. You will be able to see assuming your amp is not fucked up, voltage coming out of the wires. No voltage= no worky. Check also for DC output as well to make sure the amp is OK. Some amps may require to see a load for them to come on. You can get a few 2/4 ohm 30 watt resisters at radio shack to make sure its not a load sense issue with the sub.
Cheers

littleloogy-i have no idea what you just said.. haaaaaaaaa, well i get the check my ohms on the sub. My new Boss sub is working fine. Now, are you talking about the amp in the Bose stock system the silver box affixed to the back of the stock 8 inch sub in the trunk? Other than that I don't have an amp. I'm trying to avoid an amp. I just want to take out the old stock 8inch Bose sub and put in an 8inch Boss sub. PERIOD. Is this possible. You all are right that there are a TON of how to's and advise on this BUT THEY ALL HAVE AN AMP (1000, 1200, 800, 600 WATTS) INSTALLED. I'm not looking to bump down the road, I'm a 33 yo cop. My stock sub blew and I wanted to replace it, but I couldn't find a stock Bose sub so I bought a 25 dollar 8 inch Boss sub. But i can't seem to get it working with the current wire setup. HELP

its not usually easy to wire a factory (bose) amp to an aftermarket sub, a lot of the time the factory subs run at an weird resistance (which determines how much power you can run to them), your best and easiest bet to keep from fucking up more stuff, blowing fuses all the time, and possibly burning up your factory amp is just to go without a sub, or install an aftermarket sub, hope that helps.

I do not have your car, therefore I do not have any reference to help you with a specific setup.

Now, was the subwoofer playing at all when you took it out? If it just shut off there might be a problem with the amplifier itself and not the woofer.
Sometimes, a subwoofer can blow, causing a direct short in the voice coil. This will cause the amplifier to either go into protect mode (if it has it) or blow an output device in the amp (cause internal damage).
You need to first make sure that the factory amp is working properly.
Can you post pictures so I can see what you are up against?
