Default Mazdaspeed Protege idle issue

My protege has had an idle issue for awhile now. Most of the time it idles low, less than 800 RPMs. When I accelerate and then let off the gas the RPMs bottoms out or the car dies from dropping so far. Any ideas? I've had some look it over a while back but the morons had no idea. I had one O2 sensor replaced. My intercooler tube looks like it has a shit patch job on it and it could be leaking air. No idea?

That sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere. Look for leaks downstream of, or at the throttle body.

Id put money on the egr valve being clogged. It's a huge issue with the FSDE engine.
