Default Clunking noise/ possible suspension noises??

Not too sure what the noise is here I’ve looked around here and there seems to be a lot of different culprits just looking for any insight! Much appreciated!

I do not get sound when playing that video.

Even if I could, I would need to know where on the car the noise is coming from. Front, rear, center, left or right? This matters.

Around the wheels? Left or right side? Describe the sound in words. Try to be very specific and detailed. Is it constant when in motion, or does it happen only when going over a bump, pothole or such? Does it change in pitch with car speed? Is it a sharp instant bump, or a longer grind? It is high pitched? Any descriptive terms would help.

I don’t know how you can post a sound clip.

You should be able to directly post most common audio and video files like mp3, mp4, avi, wav and wmv files.

Clunking. Look at the sway bar end links - inexpensive and easy to replace. Also check the sway bar bushings, also inexpensive but a bit harder to get to.

Is the car jumping up and down too on level ground?

I still have no idea where you are hearing the sound coming from. That is really important to know. Left, right, front or back.

The rear sway bar end links tend to loosen over time. Simply tightening them with Blue Loctite or similar mild thread locker might solve the problem if the sound is from the back.

The front end links are easy to get to and easy to replace.

These are common suspension issues as the cars get miles on them.

More difficult would be the top hats/strut bearings on the front struts. Again, these are pretty cheap, but there is quite a bit of work involved. It could also be the blown struts in front or shocks in back, or even a broken spring, all in the differential analysis.

That clunk sounds very familiar to me, but I only hear it when going over certain (not all) bumps and pot holes, and only at certain (not all) speeds. I've been hearing this for the last 20+K miles. Noise comes from front, driver side wheel area.

I can replicate it when the car is parked and I "shake/jerk?" the whole car side to side by pushing back and forth on the top area of the A/B pillar / roof frame.

You seem to hear it continuously during slow speeds. See if jerking the car at a stand still causes same noise.

I've replaced front LCA, front sway bar links, front struts + strut mounts (which were totally shot). Noise still there.

The only solution that works is turning the volume knob clockwise until clunking went away

I'd also appreciate any suggestions anyone might have based on the above observations.

What about the sway bar bushings, themselves. The sway bar mounts, or at least their bushings, may need replacing. The front ones are a bit harder to get to, but inexpensive to replace. While at it upgrade to the mounts that have zerk grease fittings.

+1 for sway bar bushings. Just replaced mine and eliminated my nasty clunking up front. My passenger side bushing was really deteriorated... I suspect it had some chemical help.

I went with the JBR bushings/brackets as they were $30 shipped which was the best price I could find on OEM. You will just need to nudge your sway bar stoppers in a little to accommodate the larger brackets. Here is a pic comparing the OEM to JBR.

Do you have aftermarket end links? Does the noise happen when you're going over uneven roads?
