(Thread Starter) |   Not Ranked : 0 score  White Smoke I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this problem? Also if anyone knows why this is happening? My car has 76000+ miles on it and I'm worried that something drastic might happen.  |

| Not Ranked : 0 score depends if it dissipates or lingers. Dissipating white smoke=coolant. lingering white smoke=oil. swap to 5w40 oil, or 10w40 oil and see if that helps the problem. If not, you may have blown seals on yer snail. Dealer visit for you!

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score topped up on my coolant. the white smoke is light when idle and I don't believe i see it while i'm driving. I see puffs once in a while. Will do a oil change to see if that stops the problem. Also, the smoke smells sort of sweet but bad. Thats why I believed it to be my coolant. Last edited by Soriku1489; 06-10-2010 at 09:14 AM. | Not Ranked : 0 score I plan on running synthetic when I do my next oil change. On my previous cars I've found that the turbo motors like synthetic a little better because of the heat dissipation properties.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I've smelled the sweet smell with my old car but that was when my engine blew. I want to go synthetic but i'm worried about leaks. I'm not much of a car person so I'm trying to learn as I go and the last time I used Synthetic was on my 95 eclipse. It leaked oil like crazy but i wasn't sure if that happened before or after I did it. So long ago. My oil change is coming up so i'm going to do it. |
