I've done this on a few other forums that I frequent and it seems to work out well. I've been detailing for almost 10 years now and own a detailing business catering to high end luxury and exotic owners. Feel free to post up your detailing related questions and I'll do my best to answer them asap. I'm frequently online so you can catch me on AIM or Google chat as well.

Nice! Thanks for the help. What product/procedure do your recommend for fixing lightly scratched plastic (headlights)?

I tried some Mothers plastic polish with little results.

Thanks.

If they're lightly scratched you might have to do a bit of wetsanding. I would go with like 2500 or 3000 grit wet sand paper to level them off and then polish them out with Meguiars 105 or something similar. Should make your lenses crystal clear

It can actually be a quite useful thread for those interested in learning about detailing their cars. Unless there is another one that I'm not already aware of

I don't disagree, but not in this 4 year old thread. The OP prolly isn't even here anymore.

Start another one, have @Raider; make it a sticky and have at it.

I bought a mazdaspeed 3 a few months back when my mz3 was totalled while sitting at a red light =/. Ive gotten most of the interior/exterior like new, but the engine bay is disgusting. It looks like water spots on the head valvecover and intake manifold, although I know its oxidation. Whats the best way to get it all looking like it just rolled off the assembly line? The rest of the engine bay is pretty rough too.
Im also interested what works best for wash and wax for the paint (true red), shine for the plastic (like.rear.bumper section, tmic and fuse/battery cover), and cleaning products for the wheels, tires and calipers. I appreciate all the info you can spare!
Im also going to either plastidip or powder coat the oem wheels, so any advice on cleaning those types of.finishes as well.
I really appreciate this thread man! Thanks a million
