Default Cleaning Exaust Tips

Decided to try cleaning up my exhaust tips on the 6 last week. The car has had an aftermarket exhaust on it since new, and I don't think the previous owner EVER cleaned the tips. Very heavily caked in carbon. Its amazing what a little steel wool can do!

Before:

After:

They didn't turn out perfect, but waaaay better than before, and actually better than I expected from just some steel wool...

It's just a weld on tip on his magnaflow catback.

I use some steel wool to remove the carbon, then use a metal polish to make them shine.

Yeah everyone says the exhaust looks weird... Previous owner said it was a Magnaflow that Mazda put on at the dealer when the car was purchased (Don't know if it was an option at the dealer, or if the owner purchased it separately and asked them to put it on, the original owner was a Mazda service rep). I've never seen another Speed6 with the same exhaust...
