Default Detailed My Pu

I use to really be into detailing my car along with other peoples cars(usually just family members). I recently moved to an apartment complex that didn't have a sufficient water source(one of those cheap sprayers that you pay 75 cents for and is usually broken) and kind of forgot about cleaning my car, would usually go a month or so without a wash. I got an e-mail from Chemical Guys pre-Black Friday for 30% off everything and I complied my shopping cart with about 30 items and bought them all. I had run out of little items and never replaced them over time, like a good PH soap, micro's, and some for my trim.

I got everything from CG in a timely manner and began to brain storm a plan of attack for my paint. I mostly looked into CG videos on Youtube and figured it all out. I also used Autogeeks forum which had a lot of information. Then it hit me I had boughten 3 boxes of 22PLE from a member on here that runs paragon motorsports and forgotten about them. 22PLE is a very strong glass coating that they say lasts up to or over a year, so 22PLE was the choice of sealant over CG Jetseal now.
My plan was as fallows:
  1. Strip wax with CG citrus wash and general wash(2 bucket etc).
  2. Dry car with a hose, CG after you wash spray and some waffle micro's.
  3. Traditional clay baring.
  4. IPA the wheels, place 22PLE VM1 on the wheels and buff off.
  5. Go get drunk for new years and finish the next day.
  6. Buffer car starting with Orange medium Hex pad using V34.
  7. Buffer with white light polishing Hex pad using V36 .
  8. Buffer with CG Wet Mirror Finish using black finishing Hex pad(Think the IPA canceled this out).
  9. IPA whole car.
  10. 22PLE VX1.
  11. Seal trim with VR1 on my next day off.
  12. seal windows using Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Glass Coat.
  13. wait 2 weeks and put Zymol paste wax over the 22PLE in hopes of getting this result:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hs5Vl3TQZ9U

The needed pictures:

Car washed, dried, and clayed:

The WolfGang sealant I had on before kept everything nice and clean when I stripped it. but there were some missed things from my previous buff back in January:

The first day (31Dec2014) I washed the car clayed and sealed the wheels:

Began to prep for the next day

The micro I used the day before, stiff as could be from the VM1.

after some v34:

After some V36, glaze, IPA, and sealed with VX1

Now for the fail:
pad fell apart once I was 75% done.

bottle came broken, but stayed sealed thankfully:

End result:

Still have to clean up the trim and windows, but I'm still waiting on a few things to get here from UPS to finish those parts.

Derek, now you can do my car

Can you recommend those attachments that spray the car with thick layer of foam. And the cleaning solution for them.

As for the soap i'd just tell you to get a good PH level one like this one:
Amazon.com: Chemical Guys - Mr. Pink Super Suds Car Wash Soap and Shampoo (16 oz): AutomotiveAmazon.com: Chemical Guys - Mr. Pink Super Suds Car Wash Soap and Shampoo (16 oz): Automotive

or are you looking to strip wax? Because I used Chemical guys citrus wash for that.

@dereeek; Thanks for suggesting the foam gun. Does it work well with regular garden house? I thought those don't really do a good job. The best are the ones that connected to power washer.

Anyhow, I'm looking for a "kit" to have that will aid in quick and easy wash. So, instead of contemplating every time, you can just pull out the kit and do a wash with in 30 mins or less. It's for those washes that have to come in between the proper wash (like yours).

So, I'm looking for a nice set of tools: foam gun, sponges/brushes etc. That make the wash fast and easy (like long handle on a brush makes a big difference). + Good chemicals that do a good job.

Can you combine a kit for us?

It's all up to you really, I use a foam gun because I like how convenient it is to use. It'll spread the soap out, but you can also do this too using a two bucket method.

This is really the only kit I could find with a 5 min search:
Chemical Guys HOL_302 - Foam Blaster 6 Foam Wash Gun Kit (7 Items)

Just do research on how to properly dry your car and use microfibers.
