My car first that had to sit outside for a few months while I moved it:

a before and after of the Carbon Fiber hood I got on another ms3 I flipped. Was really rough when I got it but after wet sanding and polishing I'm really happy with how it turned out:

@sho; 's car that had never been clayed much less detailed ever before after 170k miles:

Also fixed some glaucoma on the passenger headlight.

Then an S4 I finished this last weekend. You can tell someone tried to take care of this but just didn't do it properly. So it was constantly messed up all over the car. But the current owner is very happy with the work done.

Forgot to take before pictures of the S4, seeing if the owner has a couple.

Yup, I have a Rupes 15 and some different pads, polishes, etc. I've built up a decent amount of supplies. Never enough

@chaser27; Some of those 50:50 shots are amazing. That Jag especially.

I would love to come by some time when youre working on a car and just observe and learn. How would you feel about that? I'm about 2.5 hours away from Birmingham so not far at all. I've just started to get into pain correction this summer and have no idea what I'm doing. I jacked up a spot under my door handle (think i burned through the clear coat ) and havent wanted to touch my car other than washes since. I would offer lunch and handies and an extra set of semi-competent hands .

I don't really have any cars lined up to work on (just a hobby for now) Nor do I have a decent garage. (I use a friends when I'm doing paint correction)
But I'm sure we can plan a meet or something. I'm actually in Atlanta a fair amount (fiancee's family lives in Flowery Branch), so if you have a decent place to work on cars, I can try to find time to haul my stuff out there and see what we can do. I'm no pro by any means, but have some experience with wet sanding, paint correction, etc.

I do have a decent garage actually. Lacking bright lights though.

That would be pretty fucking cool if you did that. I could set up another NATOR BBQ at my house and get some of the locals to come out. I'll pay for any products of yours used; not trying to use up your goodies. Probably best to wait for spring, though..

Let's set something up! I normally just use a combo of a headlamp, handheld flashlight and a bike light (2200 lumens) I have mounted on a tripod to give me the light I need to supplement a standard overhead garage light. Move them around based on where I'm working. If you guys need anything I get wholesale pricing through DetailedImage. Apparently blowing a bunch of money on crap has its perks haha

Just got to keep it protected like your paint. When you wax your car, wax your headlights too. I put some collinite on these since it's what I had with me.

Not a 50/50 but you can see the dullness to the right of the light reflection in the first photo. My wife just got me a DA orbital as a graduation present, and I promised I'd polish her car first. It had an ungodly amount of swirls in it, but got them near 100% out. From 5ft or further the car looks absolutely mint now. Not bad for almost 6yrs old and 75,000 miles.

@Raider; can you move this thread to the new car detailing section. I hadn't realized you made it when I started this.
