Default Headlight Refinishing

I know the instructions are pretty straight forward. Just wanted to share my results. The distribution of light is much better and the cut off is back to OE standard. It took about an hour for both cars.

My car with the kit "by hand"

My gf's car using the "3M drill kit"

I had really good luck with the sylvania restoration kit. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What did they have you start doing first? 400 grit, 800 grit, then 2000 grit?

Her car was way worse and I used the drill kit. It came out damn near perfect even though my drill ran out of battery towards the end. I will say that I prefer the by hand kit because I could be more precise during the sanding portion.

The 3M Drill kit goes from 500, 800 then 3000 trizact pad. The trizact pad is pretty damn awesome!

Something with sandpaper (trizact is awesome, btw) is the only thing that will last. I have some trizact paper I do by and in the corners and along the edges in addition to the powered main area. Those look nice! They should last a lot longer than the liquid stuff, too.

works well but you have to maintain it as you take off the clear coat of the lens, so every month or so you have to do a good polish on them or they will yellow in no time at all

After refinishing you should apply clear coat to prevent the yellowing from coming back as quickly . You can also slap some Laminix film over the lenses to protect them a lot longer.

3M makes an entire film kit for our cars. I'm sure there's plenty of other cheap ebay options, too.

This kit works great, especially if you do it by hand. It does take longer but the results IMO come out the best. Your results came out fantastic!
