Default Post-detail pics!

Full detail in April. Been taking care of the car with my newfound detail knowledge. This is after a clay bar, jet seal (Chemical Guys), and Pete's Paste Wax (Chemical Guys) 6 months after detail with FG400 (microfiber cutting pad) and SF4000 (black finishing pad).

Leave comments and post your own post-detail pics!

Pics were taken in Austin btw.

Looks great!

I used ccs pads with meguires staged compound/polishes with mediocre results. Swirls are gone but there is still water etching that wont go away no matter how i modify the polishing methods. Some scratches remain, and i accept that part becuase DA porter cable.

Do you have before shots?

I would give the MF pads a shot with menzerna polishes. And yes, the porter cable is great but not as powerful as other DA polishers. Honestly though I still have water etching that is visible on the hood. It is much less noticeable now, though.

Some crappy before pics are available here (post 23):

Polishing combo for swirls and water etching

Looks real good, wish I had the skills and equipment to do a more professional detail, just don't want to try anything without knowing what I am doing.

FYI I have no "skills". Just decided to spend about $250 on some equipment and a look at a few autogeek/MSF detailing tips. 1 week later I had some glossy paint. Now that I have done it a couple of times I could do it way better but with quality pads and a good polisher (griot's garage) ANYONE can get at least 90% improvement in most paint defects. After some sealant/wax it'll look way better than it did than when it came off the showroom floor.

Christmas is coming around. Ask for some detail stuff and spend a day in your garage and bingo - glossy paint.
