Default AEM Methanol Kit Questions

I was installing my AEM methanol kit last night and ran into a couple of issues that I was hoping someone here could help me with.

1) Where is the best place to "T" into for the vacuum line to the controller unit? I was thinking about tapping into the BPV line because it appears to be behind the throttle body butterfly, but I wasn't sure if this was a good place or not

2) Where is the best place to mount the spray nozzle and how did you mount it? It's a flat surface onto a rounded intercooler piping (I have an aftermarket FMIC). Do I need to have a bung welded in place?

3) BIGGEST ISSUE:

On the wiring diagram it says "Yellow - ARM switch"

Later in the instructions it says "Yellow wire connects to Arm switch (+12V power to turn on the system"

On the controller unit itself it says "Yellow - IGN" or something like that.

So what am I supposed to do with this yellow wire? Should it be hooked to switched power (like the cigarette lighter fuse) or something else?

Thank you for any help...I will rep anyone who can help me with these issues.

Thanks!

Tyler

Also, per instructions from AEM directly, I wired (or will wire) the pump and the control unit directly to the battery (both the instructions and an email from their tech said this was the way to do it).

I was wondering if this is OK (sounds strange even though this is what they recommend) and if I should run a fuse on the pump power wire somewhere just in case?

Looking at the AEM forums it looks like the yellow wire should go to a "switched" power source, like the cigarette lighter fuse. This is what turns the system on/off. If can also be wired to an external toggle switch, I guess.

They also said to follow the instructions and wire directly to the battery...some people were having issues with things not working right until they did that. Guess that answers two of my questions anyway.

From AEM:

Yes, you’re correct. The yellow ARM wire is like the “ON” switch for the system. Even though the pump and controller have direct battery power, it still won’t “ARM/Turn On” until you’ve applied +12v to the yellow wire. I would not suggest grabbing power from the cigarette lighter, look for a source from your fuse box if possible.

Once the yellow wire has +12v, you will hear a very low tone coming from the pump, this means the system is on and ready.

I have the AEM kit installed on my car. I wired the yellow wire from the progressive controller to the yellow wire in the group of wires that goes to the steering wheel column. I tapped the line in between the manifold and bpv and intake manifold for the boost signal and i tapped my coldpipe right before the throttle body. I had a 1/8"NPT bung welded right before the throttle body but you can tap your fmic and it will work if you don't swap the nozzles out.

Thanks for that

Just an update...

Got the kit installed. It took me two days to do it, but I took my time (I actually removed most of the interior on the driver's side).

A few install notes:

- I ran power to the controller and the pump direct from the battery
- I connected the yellow wire to the cigarette lighter fuse using a fuse tap
- I ran the two power lines and the vacuum line through the large grommet on the passenger's side (behind the glove box)
- I ran the water/meth line along the driver's side under the trim (following the bundle of wires that goes back there) and into the engine bay through the small hole for the hood latch cable
- I tapped the intercooler piping a few inches away from the TB...just downstream of the BPV...I may have a bung welded in there later
- I T'd into the BPV vacuum line
- BE SURE that the vacuum line isn't pinched after you install everything. Mine was pinched behind the glove box
