SUPER's Labonte Water/Meth Install

so here it is guys. DJ pretty much summed up the install how-to so ill only give u a jist of what i did. i started by tapping the cold pipe because i couldent wait any longer for the freeze plug location.



i then mounted the pump in a SICK location to be out of the way. i had to trim the metal just a hint to make sure the tubing did not rub. the tank is only mounted here temporarily because i ran out of tubing and i need to make a sweet mounting bracket like DJ did.



i just mounted the controller on top of the fuse box cause it seemed like an OK location. since it doesent need to be adjusted more then 4 times a year it should be fine here. i had to use a add a fuse INSIDE the car because none of the fuses in the engine bay box were 12v switched.

so whats this OOPS i speak of? on friday night i filled my meth tank to the top with some WWF and HEET and diddent drive around much. the next day i woke up and did many 15 miles of errands without getting too much into boost. i open the trunk to check on things as well as the level and i look at the tank and its HALF EMPTY!!!! im like WTF where did it go!!!! well i guess i diddent hook the hose up right to the pump OUTLET so everytime the pump went to prime the system to keep pressure after spraying it would leak out. consequently it leaked down behind my back seat but luckily i had some old rags and towels back there that soaked up most of the water. i fixed the hose and all is well. TIP: when you install the hoses into the fittings make sure u push them all the way in until they cant go anymore and then yank on them a little to make sure they are set.

DRIVING IMPRESSIONS: i cant really notice a difference as my BAT's are already in the mid 30's but i know the system is working. i have it set to start at like 7 PSI so that i knwo it will only come on if im really in boost. its full at 25 PSI because i dont really need 100% duty cycle right now in the winter and i dont want to just waste fluid. if you guys have questions feel free to post up or PM me.

Looks great. I have been waiting to see someone install the pump in a trick location on a MS6 and I'm glad I waited. Post some pics when you have the tank finalized as well.

its kind of scary actually when you think about it.. Methanol burn clear... you put a Leak and Spark..=Bad things. Methanol ignites at 52 degree F. But it is an AWESOME spot.. just scary to think of it, if it actually happens.

btw, danems6 has the best location I have EVER seen for the pump. he has a cpe fmic and it has a supporting bracket that is big enough to mount the pump a foot from the ww tank.

all of mine is under the hood, the only thing I have running to the interrior is the wires for the LED. I used the ww tank, and have the pump mounted in the fender well on the brace where the CAI usually mounts.

I would think that would only be a concern for greater than 50/50 methanol mixes. But a good point nonetheless. If people plan to run high percentages of methanol, care should be taken when routing or mounting anything meth related in the cabin.

Hey i just watched your youtube. Did you happen to do any logs during both runs? I'd be curious what differences in timing and boost were between the two. Yeah yeah, i know all the controversy about the WI and whatever, and i really don't give a shit. I mainly just want to see the difference in spark advance and boost.
