Default MazdaSpeed Protege BOV question
My car is stock everything, just bought, I do not even hear my bov, and would like to know some loud ones, that do not sound like the turkey calls.

You can get a Vent to atmosphere BOV but it would be better to recirculate. You are not going to hear anything on a stock car since it uses a bypass valve, not BOV.

Also that turkey sound is compressor surge. Its a problem that effects all MSP's. Even with an aftermarket intake and BOV you still might get it. I relocated my MAF and moved the BOV closer to the TB and it still does once in a while.

My stock one with full injen intercooler pipes and injen intake was loud and held boost just fine.

i don't think injen makes intercooler pipes
but S U and protegegarage do have them.

Default BOV Stallout
I just installed my BOV TurboXS type H and I am stalling out when I go into neutral.. anyone else experience this or any tips or suggesting to solving this problem? Everything is stock except for the aftermarket intercooler.

Your stalling for two different reasons... 1) your venting metered air or 2) you haven't relocated your MAF yet to the cold pipe between the BOV and the Throttle Body.

Personally Im running a relocation MAF and the Stock BPV vent to air.

So is the verdict to just get an aftermarket BOV that vents into the air that isn't recirculated? And if this is the answer, do I have to relocate my MAF....Or how If I can get my BPV to pssshhhh more, do I just recirculate it ?...and where if so?

YOU CANNOT VTA WITH A BOV WHILE HAVING THE MAF IN THE STOCK LOCATION.

you must relocate to fully vent.
you could do hybrid..vent and rec, but that's just ghey.

now, if you don't have hardpipes or a FMIC, forget VTA cuz you wont

this is what you would need to relocate and VTA



oh and google man...google that shit..took me 10 seconds to find the answer...this car is from 2003..believe me, everyhting that coulv'e been asked..has been asked.
