245/45R17 - Options & Prep

Hey guys!

I'm looking at new Wheels & Tires, and wanted to get some feedback on my plans after some reasearch:

Currently running the stock 215/45r18 on 17x7 Gen Waun setup.

I want something to improve grip & traction, improving straight line acceleration & cornering grip. Going to a size that's similar to stock in diameter with a slightly larger sidewall is prefered, as it has a relatively lower tire cost and is better on rough roads.

That being said, I'm looking at 245/45R17 on 17x8.5 wheels.

Old Vs New Comparison

I am on stock suspension and don't plan on changing that. I know I will have to roll at least my rear fenders, possibly front as well. I'd love some feedback on this size configuration, and possibly some wheel suggestions. Offset suggestions would be great as well. I am planning on an offset near +33 to keep the distance from the wheel and the suspension about the same. How close to the suspension can I safely get? What offset for this size would be optimal for handling & rube prevention?

Aesthetically, I'm primarily looking at an alloy silver color, but I would also consider gold & gunmetal. No black or chrome. Black accents against alloy would be fine.

I've been reading so much about this. But I found this article last night, which I think is very helpful. I was having a hard time figuring out exactly which wheels will and won't hit the suspension:

So unless any has any specific recommendations for me, we can leave it at that.

As an aside, I think I've decided to go with bright white wheels.

You will be ok.
Im running 245/40/17s on 17x9+35 rota titans lowered on bc coils, fronts are clear and rear fenders only needed a slight roll.

How much camber are you running in the rear? And how much are you dropped with those BCs?

That's exactly what I wanted to hear! Almost the exact setup I was thinking, except I am looking 17x8.5 Wheels and not lowering. Glad to hear it didn't need much roll on your first gen. I need to calculate the exact range of offset I can run with my size, but I was thinking around the +40 area, probably similar to yours taking into account the smaller wheel size.

I'd also be curious to know what camber you're running.
