HID ballast/bulb install tips?

For anyone that has a MS3 Sport and did an HID conversion, or anyone that's worked on their lights a bit:

Did you find it necessary to remove anything in particular to make the install significantly easier/better?

Replacing previous aftermarket HID system with new morimotos and am trying to plan for a smoother installation process...
