Default How to open hood with broken latch

Couldnt find any threads on how to open hood if latch breaks or comes undone from engine bay wich happened to me. So thought id make a quick right up hopefully its usefull. So i closed my hood the other day and it came undone from engine bay so trying to mess with latch was pointless. So first pry between hood and grill with screwdriver or similar make sure to put tape around so it wont chip paint. Tht should give u enough room to fit socket Then remove 2 10mm bolts tht should get hood open more to where u can stick ur hand in and reach behind latch on the right side and pull lever to the right and tht should do the trick. Hope this helps.

This won't help if the hood won't move at all. How can you pop it from underneath? I'm getting flush hood pins soon. I can't keep doing this. I've never had a car that had this problem. This is the 3rd time but the first time it didn't pop up at all

So what did you do when it wouldn't pop at all? Unfortunately, this is relevant information for me...

I had to undo the bolts from under the car. Undoing the bolts allows the hood to raise up a few inches then you can you can undo the latch.
