(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score As for those of you wanting to go this route. We will be starting a HUGE sale this week which will include an unheard of low price on Standback2, FCF with all our additional flashes, and a lot of other goodies. All of Sean's results are on 93 octane, DI only with upgraded pump, and NO meth! Sean also was running a stock intake manifold with the VCTS still in place as well as a bone stock head. On to what you are all waiting for - ENJOY! cp-e News & Events Everyone likes to use dynojets so we took Sean's car straight to a dynojet after we finished. During our first pull on the dynojet he made 428whp uncorrected but popped an injector seal so we couldn't get to the 24psi we tuned for on our dyno. He will be fixing the injector seal and getting onto a dynojet near him. I think Sean has a copy of the runfile. It did make a solid 428 whp but knocked as a result of the injector seal blowing. | Not Ranked : 0 score so is it pointless for near stock cars (block/turbo) to get the wall flash? ... would increased rail pressure suffice for the gains to be had?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Big turbo cars weren't making any more power than modified SST type turbos on the MS3/MS6 platform for the most part. Now, with Sock's car, a 3071 is putting down more power then previous dynos with even larger turbos were putting down. The wall once was 350 at the wheels, CP-E has smashed through the wall and is now on the other side, where the grass is definetly greener...

| Not Ranked : 0 score now that theres real power being made with these engines i predict the injector seal issue will become a common hurdle. do you guys have any ideas or thoughts on that? the seals are expensive and i think they could keep popping like orville reddenbacher at these levels. cpe might need to put their thinking caps back on... i see another profit cneter for a simple well designed product on this one thank god its finally an issue after all..loland btw... does cpe know the bibical story of the prodigal son? i personally feel there may be a shortage of fatted calves in the beltsville md area in the coming months...... |

I think Cobb has all but given up on the Mazda platform, good news for CP-E !!! However now that the cat is out of bag, I really hope Cobb gets their act together and comes up with a similar fix. Hats off to CP-E for figuring this one out !!!

Plus you are not stuck at 400 whp, socks had a 3071 turbo and he had an injector seal blow. Who knows what a bigger turbo can do. It was the first dyno, cut them some slack man.

He hit 400 at a normal boost level...19psi---not at the stupid high boost levels it has previously taken to even get near 400hp. If the ECM and engine are behaving properly now power should improve significatly as the boost rises...and John's injector seals should take care of the issue that kept him at 19psi...

| Neutral : -1 score Yeah but its not a breakthrough until they actually do it. SS you have a 550hp car, but until you actually make 550hp you can only claim what everyone else has done. All I see here is the same stuff except more refined. If they are going to claim to have broken records, uncorked the potential of the car, smashed through tuning walls, and big power is finally here... I just wanna see a dyno with more hp than other shops is all.

400hp at 19psi is definatly not the same old stuff, it might be the same number, but the boost used to get there is VERY different... Finally, the party was stopped by a mechanical failure(bad injector seal), and not by the ecm allowing you to run 30psi but limiting power to what you should hit at 20psi.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I bet you have the hard parts for that hp. It sucks that the car broke, but that doesnt change the fact that they made the same 400hp with a fatter curve and less boost, which is great but I dont see any walls falling.

I think that what people fail to realize is that all internal combustion motors for the last 100 years operate on the same principle. The principle has been "refined" and here we are today. By the same token, CPE has calibrated the DISI such that it makes more power than it did before at the same pressure level. It is a refinement and a very effective one at that. In my opinion there are no "walls" to be broken because the internal combustion engine is very well understood. However, given that CPE has has changed the control system parameters such that they achieved more power - this is certainly progress. As such there will be another "wall" further down the line just like with everything else but progress keeps pushing those that desire to go beyond it in that direction. On a technical note, I see torque falls off between 5500 and 6000 RPM. Is that a tuning limitation, airflow, fuel availability? | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Im honestly not hating or bashing, psi is a measure of restriction not of cfm so the psi that they did it with could honestly just been because it was cold enough to reach the required cfm with only 19 psi. I honestly see the same hp with a fatter cuve at a lower psi days after a arctic front went through. Its a damn nice dyno but when I see someone do 430+ corrected hp with DI only, unmodified injectors, at stock or near stock rail pressures then that would be a claim to fame. We already knew you could do around 400hp near the red line on stock injectors at stock or near stock rail pressures. Lets see something new before we start claiming barriers are being broken. They did prove that they might be able to break that theoretical redline hp limit, which is good news.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Do you see anyone else with a GT3071R or even bigger turbo making that much power at those boost levels? Sure dont! The closest is Whoosh 386 whp on a dynojet and that was on a GT35r which is a much bigger turbo. Stock Injectors: Check, SSinstaller has the only set of modified injectors at this point in time Mechanical Limitation on Fuel Pressure via pressure relief valve (1850 psi): Check Now, what were you were saying about a claim to fame? They definately unlocked *something*, now whether other tuning solutions can do the same has yet to be seen. I dont see why not though especially now that they know that this "wall" does infact exist. If one man can do something, so can anyone else its just a matter of time. For now CP-E holds the crown though. Last edited by JumpingJackson; 01-10-2010 at 11:55 PM. |

1) The wall was something in the ECU, I doubt CPe is going to say more information only because then other companies can rip off their R&D (as CPe stated in another thread) 2) No, only for big turbo and/or forged bottom end. That was clearly stated in the other thread. However to note, it does give us insight. Grats CPe!

| Not Ranked : 0 score That power curve definitely looks far better than anything anyone else has even claimed. With its 87.5mm bore and 94mm stroke, our engine is best suited to making gobs of torque down low and tapering off up top exactly like this dyno shows. Nobody else has made this kind of power (unless you compare dynojet numbers to mustang numbers) and everyone who has come close has had to use a bigger turbo at higher pressure and higher rpm. There is no doubt that cp-e has figured out something big that nobody else has.
