thats some good shit man, glad to hear someone figured it out. I'm still trying to imagine though what that power would feel like with fwd. The only thing im concerned with is that fact and how it would feel. I know you guys are talking about making bigger power but 400hp is alot. i know that evos and sti's are making ridiculous power but for the most part they have a driveline that will back it up and support it. wish mazda would have thought about that with the speed 3. but dont get me wrong though im not hating on our cars at all like i said i love mine and it performs better than other cars like the z on a road track but i still cant see having over 400 to the wheels on fwd. shine some light on the subject no hated remarks neccessary just kinda wanted to discuss it

BUT GOOD JOB CP-E! btw wheres the closest tuning area for you guys around kansas?

06Speed6 - we made 428whp @19psi on a dyno jet 45 minutes after our dyno on our mustang dyno. We were planning on going all the way back up to 24psi but the car couldn't because it popped an injector seal. This car is sitting around 450-470whp on a dynojet if we had been able to actually do the dyno. Sean will be replacing his seals this week or next and going to a dyno near him locally. Sean's 355whp dyno from COBB made 290whp/318wtq or so on our dyno. From that we made 390/400...thats not HUGE? We used DI only with pump gas and no meth. So if gaining 73whp at 2psi LESS of fuel isn't progress - I don't know what is. I really wish we coulld have dyno'd 24psi after that 19psi run - but soon enough it will be posted.

I won't go into details on RR but the dynos the posted have been manipulated a bit. We have the runfiles for those who want them of our runs. I will let them do their own thing as we don't make the parts they are trying to sell. Their dynos just don't even come close to looking legit.

still stuck at 400?

Id say if the seal hasnt popped it would have done a solid 440-450whp on that dynojet.

the first pull on the dynojet the car overboosted, which is odd, i thought dynojets ran less boost because they produced less load. the boost spiked to around 30psi and i got off quick.

If you guys dont know, a popped seal can sound, and register on the knock sensor like knock. I've had it happen to me twice. this time it was just a little harder to discern.

I have to get the winPEP software to show the 428, but in all honesty, it looks bad, lol. with the ecu pulling as much timing as it can it looks like a jigsaw blade.

I will say I am pleased. For having a 3071, we got the numbers (~400) on the mustang that i expected on a dynojet. After my conversations, I have no doubt they know whats up, and you'll start seeing much more. I cant wait for SSinstaller to send them his ecu. He's gonna be shocked.

My car is DEFINATELY faster than it even was with the nitrous.

I think this limitation lies in the cams. I think Mazda made these cams for low-mid range torque.

Did you see the dyno posted on the blog? that power keeps rising.

Please please remember this dyno was AFTER we blew an injector seal, and at wastegate pressure(19psi), you can see where the ecu was pulling timing because it thought it was knocking, when really the seal was popping.

The more I look at this, the more I think I might want to drop my wastegate pressure a little...It's currently set around 23 psi, but I don't know if I really need 450WHP for driving around town every day...lol

no doubt about it: that hp/tq curve looks NICE! gj, cpe!

just to confirm: this latest breakthrough should only really help the people on the edge of the old power wall, right? people making the standard 300-320whp won't really see a difference?

i think they are still trying to figure that out. they will probably find someone that already has a standback/flashes on a stock turbo and update the flashes, and see what it does.

I'm very impressed with the MAF calibration done. Im running a gigantic maf, and it drives like a dream.

Are they still running the 3.25" MAF, or have they already switched to something bigger? I might get a little upset if the 3.25" MAF they sold me last year needs to be replaced already...

3.5" ID?? The one I have is exactly the same OD as my 3.5" intake, but the inside tapers to ~3.25", Jordan said they went with the 3.25" ID to keep a stable idle, but who knows , maybe they overcome that problem as well...

MOAR POWAH!!!

Better buy stock in whatever company makes the OEM injector seals..

I'll be waiting to crank the boost until I have John's injector seals on the car... I hate taking the car apart to pull the IM--damn IC piping routing makes me have to pull the bumper to get the IM off...

Well things that have changed is that one socks is making the same power he was before

1. with out nitrous
2. Less boost
3. Baby big turbo.

I keep saying people don't have the right perspective on this forum. Srt-4's with that turbo make a tiny bit Less whp for that boost level in comparison but that could be moot since they run lower compression. Also if you want to stay stock motor half the people on this forum aren't going to go far past 400. Be glad if CPE did it right they are allowing you to make respectable power at low boost level.

400 hp on a Mustang dyno is 450-470 on a dynojet. Most people that I've seen that dyno 400 hp on the mustang dyno usually trap in the 123-125 mph range. Thats MOVING. 24 psi on pump gas only gave them 400 hp on the Mustang. IF they've broken "this wall", so to speak, then they are really only limited by fuel type right now. I vote they hook up the meth and see what 27-30 psi nets them, but they may need to start considering cams at this point. At that point its bigger turbos and beyond.

It sucks that the car broke, but that doesnt change the fact that they made the same 400hp with a fatter curve and less boost, which is great but I dont see any walls falling.
I'm sorry you don't see it. 400 on a Mustang with 24 psi, pump gas only, no nitrous, huge powerband, and a small/medium framed turbo is huge. Or how about 19 psi, blown injector seal, ECU pulling timing, and 428 on a Dynojet.

I think that you should be fine using stock turbo/motor with this. Maybe even upgraded turbo and a conservative tune also. There are a couple guys making good power on stock motors and upgraded turbos (Samsel and that 18psi guy come to mind). Its all in the tune so I don't see why it couldn't be done. I think they were merely saying that if they loaded this tune on the RR car that it would blow a hole through the block.

good stuff regardless tho cp-e!
RR car is using an Alternative fueling setup, or so they say, and are keeping it secret, even though its not really a secret as to how they were doing it. They also have a very lazy power band and while peak power might be there, its just not a powerful car. On a mustang dyno I'm sure that car would only do 360-370 whp, but it would only do it for a fraction of the power band. That isn't to say though that they havn't really pushed these cars, its just IMO things seem a little sketchy over at the RR section.

The "wall" so to speak, was making power without meth/race gas/nitrous, on the stock DISI pump at stock pump pressures, and CP-E figured it out. You guys are finally in the same realm as everyone else, haha.

-Sean
Time to get her fixed and take it the dynojet and show the big numbers to the naysayers. Apparently people only see that one number and think that number is the same on every dyno. Get it to track this season too, I wanna see some 125 mph trap speeds on pump gas.

You need to hook up the meth and up the boost to around 27-30 and see what she does.

I think it will help everyone. Only time will tell.

Question: You claimed socks made 290whp last time on your Mustang dyno. Did he dyno right before the flashes? I know he's made some hardware changes lately like the exhaust housing on his turbo.

Cpe finding a way to make more power didn't right all the other wrongs with the motor. If its true we can make a healthy amount of power now your just gonna see all the other issues known and unknown start falling out the tree now.

Have you heard word one from Bri since he made that power or heard of him racing any cars? He's scared of the fast, probably avoids that pedal on the right by any means possible.
