(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Sorry for the lack of updates guys! ![]() The prototype fit perfectly so we've placed our initial order and the pipes are currently being manufactured. I can't provide any hard release dates, but we'd like to have these things in our hands by the end of this month. MSRP will be set at $210 with vendors able to carry the product just south of $200. How could be fit 3" of cross-sectional area in that little space? Unlike aluminum pipe, we can make non-uniform shapes with the silicone. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the pipe doesn't maintain a circular cross-section throughout. The shape flattens to some degree after the steel insert at the end of the pipe (where the intake attaches). You can see in this picture below that there's a smooth transition from the circular cross-section into the more oval cross-section: And since the oval shape is more prone to collapsing, the entire pipe is lined with steel wire. The pipe also comes with /all/ stock attachment points, anchors, and fitting provisions. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think I'm sold on this. I ordered an RPMC inlet but they refunded my order since they didn't have any in stock. Then they gave me a special pricing on their next batch, but with the quality of my CP-E Nano I think I'm going to get this instead. Thanks again CP-E. |

Why does it cost so much? Because its much more than just a piece of silicone. The little design touches like all of the factory mounting points, steel wire wrap, and stainless steel attachment points add up. We could produce a turbo inlet for less, but then again it wouldn't have all of the features that make this pipe special.
Unfortunately no, I don't believe that this item will carry an introductory price. Josh and I were discussing the price today and he was actually going to set the MSRP around $250. I fought tooth and nail to get the MSRP closer to $200 because even though the project was expensive, I didn't think anyone would be willing to pay that much money for it. There is very little margin for us at the $210 MSRP, so I'm hoping that we make up the difference in volume.

I was one of the people that had to wait a REALLY long time for the RPMC because of shipping issues etc.... When I got mine, it didn't have the mounting tab on it so it just sort of floats, I emailed them about it over a month ago now with no response so..... away it goes.... I trimmed it a bit to try and get it to fit with more clearance so I probably won't be ably to resell it but oh well..... Also, I like the idea of this attaching directly to the turbo without as many couplers and clamps, figure it should help with some air turbulence.... Probably not a huge deal but something........ This inlet looks great!!!

| Not Ranked : 0 score I WILL be carrying them and I WILL be offering an intro price. I will have them as soon as CPE is able to supply the vendors. I missed the boat on preorders for the nano. I may change my mind with these because of the release date and to my knowledge there will not be the same exclusivity issues as they had with SU for release. Please contact me for details. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Im gonna run one on my gt35 next week. Cut the silicone back... add a 3in pipe like on the other side. Use a reducer for the size of the turbo...bingo 3in all the way back. I'll have pics nect week. I dont even think they need to make a secondary one for BTs but they probably will eventually anyway. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Or what they could do is sell them cut back so they are non-specific to turbo size and then just include whatever reducer is needed. 3" - 2" or 3" - 4". That way they dont need to manufacture 2 models, they can just make 1 and save costs. Anyways this piece looks *excellent*. I currenty have a cut ATP inlet, and that thing is a piece of crap. I would put my money down on this instant if someone would take my money haha Last edited by JumpingJackson; 01-21-2009 at 04:14 PM. |
